amd xp 1500+, epox 8kha+ (I LIKE PLUSSES!), 512mb crucial 2100 ddr ram, gainward geforce 3 ti 200 64mb ram (I forget what they call it), and some other crap. Windows 2000 Pro, SP2, IE 5.5 SP2. In the last 2 months or so, I've been getting a ton of random reboots, and the logs all point to nv_disp. Sometimes, though, they aren't so random. A lot of the times, but not all the time, the reboots come when I am scrolling a web page (just vanilla html) in IE or scrolling in Windows Explorer. I even rebooted once when scrolling in Regedit. Sometimes it will even reboot if I click and drag stuff on the desktop or in folders or on webpages. Is anyone else having problems similar to this or hearing problems like this? Could this be a compatibility problem with video and mouse drivers or something? (Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical v1.0 USB -> PS2 adaptor). I haven't found any consistency with the reboots except for scrolling/clicking-and-dragging. No, I haven't tried the new drivers, using 23.11. Using 4.36 4in1s. Should I upgrade to the new 4in1's and 28.32's? (I'm afraid of messing things up even more). And I'm using the Official January bios from epox. Not overclocking anything at all. That's all the relevant info I can think of.
On another topic, a while ago I was using a REALLY old monitor (late 80's, very tiny, but color) and occasionally it would make a large pop sound and the screen would get VERY white for about half a second then return to normal. Every day I pray for its soul. The other day, my current monitor did that. Is it on the verge of death? It is about 4 years old almost.
Also, if you hook up six nine-volt batteries to a small LED, it will explode.
And is it just me, or does anandtech.com (and especially the forums) go down quite a bit?
