Notebook with dual digital video outputs?

Does one exist?

That is to say a Notebook with DVI/DVI outs, DVI/HDMI, or HDMI/HDMI outs? I want to get a notebook as a desktop replacement but this is one feature I am not willing to give up.

As if that isn't enough, I would like the notebook to have optical/Toslink out as well, but my first set of requirements are the focus right now.

Perhaps get one with DisplayPort output, if it's a new enough version of DisplayPort, then it should support daisy-chaining displays. I have no idea if you can get this to work in the real world, but in theory it should work.

Interesting, because my monitor does have a display port input.


Does daisy chaining display port cables allow the cables to send a different signal through each cable? I am looking for dualview, not cloning.

displayport is just a transport like firewire, each monitor is a different target thus shares nothing unless you tell the video card to clone. make sure the video card supports it.

also displayport can do ethernet too (so can hdmi!) you could have an ethernet port come out of any of the monitors too

The Thunderbolt interface on the new Macbooks supports same port and connector as Mini DisplayPort.

*grumble* Now if we could just see some damn peripherals and adapters.

The M11x has both DP and HDMI outputs.

Funny that MX11 review comes out at the same time I'm looking for a notebook with that exact feature. Now that I know the technology exists it's just a matter of determining if I want to sacrifice some features and performance. I suppose i could get an external sound card for the optical connection, now if only the MX11 has SSD as an option. Well, it's an option but I'm not going to pay dell $600 to upgrade to an SSD.

Any Dell E series supports Dual monitors when you use an Edock. We use them all over the office in this config.
