That's awesome, I still like the B-17 though, he built it from scratch. I bet the turbine for the Blue Thunder is probably $20+K alone..

Not really, he had an electric starter that attached to the front of the prop, no danger al all unless your dumb enough to stick your hand in there once it starts..

I did it... once, when I was about 12. Put an end to my flying career for 13+ years.

I have wanted to make an RC ship for a while now. But it wouldn't be using a standard RC setup. With the amount of features I want, it would probably be tandem control through laptops and whatnot.

They had one here (a B-17+ a B-29 super-fortress), a 20 minute ride in the B-17 was $350 so I passed, the money goes into keeping the planes up and of course I'm sure a B-17 burns a little fuel with 4 2,000HP engines!. When they left town they flew over the beach, abreast about at about 1000ft, simply awesome to see and hear, I wish they would come back sometime.

Lol, yep. I flew RC planes for 10 years and this is a big part of why I eventually quit. They become huge money pits and are difficult to repair if they get damaged. I switched to cars. When a part breaks, I just swap it. No gluing or cutting, or any of that nonsense.
