why was there a skeleton sniper?

it was cool to watch, but I can't say it really held my attention, and the ending if you can even call it that. Left me clueless as to what I just watched, I know you can't pack 2 hours of movie into a few minutes. Would be interesting to see this expanded on so we know what the hell is going on. But unless they added a whole lot of plot I don't see how this could possibly work as a full length flick.

for the HD version what kind of system is needed to run it well?

yea, also the cuts, there were some odd ones that felt unfinished, like a rough cut. didnt flow. they got scarecrow, but i guess it just means they are some group of talent building a resume booster film.

He saw the light reflecting off the scope and assumed there was a live sniper up there which lead to the tripping of the booby trap....

You can see the SFX breakdown HERE

In the film industry you makes shorts like this to compliment your reel (your filmic "resume", or "calling card") in order to obtain jobs. This short landed this dude representation in Hollywood and the UK, which ain't easy.

It seems some people here understand this, and some don't (i.e. FilmCamera): It's not about the story as much as the visuals. Shorts like this are used to illustrate the talents of those involved (one guy wrote/directed/edited and CG'ed most of it himself). Often, the story will be written simply to accommodate the visuals.

Clearly more talent involved here than about 95% of the rest of the independent market.

no, I understand about the reflection from the scope, but I don't understand is why he's there. I'm assuming whatever is killing the people killed the sniper, but I never saw that happen so I had to draw a conclusion. It's just a weird cut to show a skeleton.

I just saw a previuos short done by this director called "Fifty Percent Gray" after someone mentioned it earlier.

It's quite a feat to have done everything by himself minus the audio. It's also quite a storyline that get's you feeling "hey that's interesting" even though the short doesn't even last 10 minutes.
