NT4 Boot up order & startup

I have a computer which it is required open programs from another networked computer, these programs are started from the Startup option. But sometimes these programs cannot make a link and the programs' startup fails.

Is this beacuse the networking has not been started when I logon and the startup is processd first?

If so, how do I either delay the startup programs OR load the networking first?

Help, as you can imagine, will be appreciated.

The networking should be up and running before you log in. Does it always fail, or occasionally? Do you shut the machine off when not in use, or just log off?

It occationally fails. The computer is on 24/7, though at times it is required to log off and log back in as administrator (do some changes to the system) then log back in as a user. This is when the programs fail. The other computer is on and loged in as administrator.

It sounds like there may be some issues with permissions. If things work fine with the administrator, but not the user, then the user may not be privileged. Try changing the user to the administrator group, and then log in. Also check the rights of the programs you're trying to run. (Assuming you're using NTFS format), or check the share permissions.
