NTFS question

I run Windows 2000 on FAT32 and I want to convert to NTFS. However, I know that older OS cannot use NTFS and I was wondering if I boot from a Win98 CDROM, will it see my NTFS drives?

If it does not, how the hell can I install an OS (for example, Win2k)?

Actually, I think you can only install Win2K on a FAT32 partition and let it convert to NTFS during install. It gave me some trouble when I tried to install on a empty NTFS drive anyway. It wanted to be installed on a FAT32 drive.

If you mean going through dos like Fdisk won't be able to see NTFS.

Sorry forgot if you want to install "for example w2k" why would you use win 98 cd. If you
use 2k cd it will see all partitions. and you don't have to format your boot drive to NTFS right away
I think when you choose that option to convert to NTFS it does it the next time you restart your PC.
You can even do it from within 2K under computer management.

Why would I use my Win98 CD to boot? Because for a reason or another, my W2k CD doesn't want to boot... it sucks, so each time, I have to boot with Win98 CD, load smartdrv and switch CDs to install 2k

it's faster with win98 boot cd
