Newegg has the 16 GB available to backorder... two are $499 and the other $529. Says date is Friday.
Asus plans to sell 4060 Ti 16GB Strix, for more than standard 4070...
ASUS newest STRIX RTX 4060 Ti GPU with 16GB memory costs more than many RTX 4070 - VideoCardz.com
ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB memory debuts at a higher price than RTX 4070 The initial reports were right, ASUS top RTX 4060 Ti costs more than higher-end SKU. Once again, ASUS has released a new GPU in their premium ROG STRIX line, and it’s no surprise that it comes with a […]videocardz.com
Asus must not have bought very many which probably explains their lack of savings and therefor the higher prices.
On the other hand it might work out because I don't think they're going to sell very many.
Either that or they're planning for a container of these to get lost for tax purposes.
They are fine on sale. All the top NV board makers are tacking on $$s to their cards (especially the Strix boards) to bolster their profits over the meager amounts to be found by matching Nvidia's 'msrp'.Asus has been lunatic with their prices for years now. Anything with the name "Asus" on it tells me to ignore and avoid because it will be way overpriced.
For the win. Hopefully HUB does a test, I'd like to see it on TLOU 1440p with their testing suite and how it performs with 16GB on the 128 bit bus vs 8GBRTX 4060 Ti 16GB Marginally Slower than 8GB Model: MSI Testing
MSI Insider Weekly tested an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB graphics card as part of a Live Benchmarking event, where it is shown to be in fact slower than the RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB. This begins to explain why NVIDIA or its board partners weren't too keen on sampling the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB for...www.techpowerup.com
Yeah, even if there is a slight repeatable difference in those titles it's probably just due to the other 4 ram chips taking a small bit of the TBP budget and you could tweak that back."The performance delta between the 16 GB and 8 GB models is within 0.5%"
I think we can call less than 1%, margin of error type difference.
The 4060 Ti really should have had more than 8GB
But that's the most you can have at the moment with a 128 bit bus without resorting to clamshell.
-Then I guess it should have had a 192bit bus...
I actually really hate this card. The 4060 Ti really should have had more than 8GB, no $400 card should be shipping with that this year. Slapping 16GB helps but only in those situations where 8GB dies, and certainly isn't worth $100 just for that. Nvidia would have been better just leaving it as is.
160 bit it is then: more than the bare minimum, less than the rest. Unfortunately they went with bare minimum, or as you like to think... the bus width that works well with memory from the futureThey already have a product with a 192 bit bus. Two even!
Yep, all the advantages of 4nm were traded for pure profit. Aside from the 4090 there's no generational uplift, just the absolute minimum to avoid a total catastrophic comparison to previous parts...barely.Unfortunately they went with bare minimum...
Yeah, AI is the new mining boom. Huzzah.Yep, all the advantages of 4nm were traded for pure profit. Aside from the 4090 there's no generational uplift, just the absolute bare minimum to avoid a total catastrophic comparison to the previous generation...barely.
Especially '60. If the prices were $199 / $249 / $299, they would've been decent products.
You can tell the plan was selling virtually everything to miners and leaving gamers to fight for scraps at scalper prices.
Hope Tenstorrent kicks nGreedia ass in AI.Hopefully temporarily.
Honestly, they could have split the difference with a 160-bit bus and 10 GB of VRAM.
AD106 and AD107 both physically have a 128-bit bus. Yields are so good at TSMC that a deeper cut of AD104 from the 4070 shouldn't really be needed.
4060 Ti 8GB at $300 would have still been a crap product when I can get the 6700 XT 12GB for $320Yep, all the advantages of 4nm were traded for pure profit. You can tell the plan was selling virtually everything to miners and leaving gamers to fight for scraps at scalper prices, while NV pretended to care deeply about the situation.
