Because of yields. But, If NV is working on quad SLi, im sure there working on 2 GPUS on one PCB designed SLi or something similiar along those lines.

It really depends on what their internal testing shows regarding the 24pipe GTX. If they know it performs as well as the X1900XT, they have no reason to go through the entire process revision and retooling just to make a 32pipe version.

It is very doubtful any of that (dual GPU or 32pipe) will be at the G71 March release. They might come out with a 32-pipe Special Financial Dependency Edition G71 later in the season for an exorbitant price, or that pipecount might just wait (like dual-GPU) until G80. That's just my guess though.

Maybe that's why faud keeps posting different prices everyday.There is more than 1 card.
But if these specs are true,I think you can kiss that $499 price tag good bye.More like $699

Come on, now they are going to a full GB for memory now?!?!? I'm still stuck debating on whether my next card will be a 256MB part or if I'm going to "buy in" on one of the 512MB cards for future games. Now this. Ughh.

No wonder they expect graphics memory chip sales volumes to climb this year...

If nVidia could pull off a 7900 GTX with 2 ghz memory clocks for $499, I'll be the first one in line to get one. Chances of that happening though are as good as me winning the lottery.

They point at 2GHz memory but bandwidth is 51.2GB/sec which again translatest back to 1.6 ... yeah BS.

Pure overclock.com update Memory specification originally posted (2.0GHz) looks to be incorrect, i fully blame the source, who emailed me today revoking that claim and insinuating it to be more closer to 1600 MHz, just like many other sites have stipulated, grrrr! It does make me wonder where this figure came from in the first place though....
