Hey guys, I've recently repurposed my wife's old PC (Gateway GM5474) into a makeshift HTPC to run our TV. It has HDMI out through the 8500GT card, and that card is connected to the SPDIF node on the motherboard for HDMI audio passthrough. I've downloaded the latest nvidia drivers, I've tried the older drivers from their website, and Windows will not recognize any other audio sources other than the front and rear analog audio.
I installed Windows 7 on the PC, and I tried installing the old video drivers from gateway's website, but the drivers are for Vista, and will detect windows 7 and exit before installing.
It doesn't show up as an audio device in the windows audio options section. But the NVIDIA Control Panel see's the TV and thinks it can output sound. But windows doesn't seem to agree with that.
Do you guys have any advice?
