Many parts slated for 2024 were originally designed for N3B, only Apple and Intel ultimately used it.
I could be mistaken, but Apple had N3B in 2023 used in iPhone (it was junk) but in 2024 they successfully switched to N3E which worked great for M4.

And now already there is talk of M5 on N3P - where are our leaks from Nvidia using it? Yes I am looking at YOU - MLID!

It's Apple, they are always first to a new node.
Well them and AMD, both because their lead N3E parts were small.

I expect Rubin to use that.

I do wonder why nVidia didn't use N4P.

I see various retailers in the US have already increased prices across the board by 100$ to 400$ (*or more) on all models.
So now there is no way to get anything at Nvidias indicated MSRP's, even if there was availability.
This pushed both the 5080 and 5090 into a "bad value" range for me.
It was already bad enough but this is just too much, not because of affordability - I just feel like Im getting ripped off.

Fake frames MSRP. To be fair the B580 has the same thing going on though at a much lesser level and I expect AMD will be no different.

AMD have given themselves time to talk to OEMs and retailers to adjust their target MSRP while ensuring everyone has positive margins.
Basically, either the IHV sacrifices their own margins or the MSRP is fake, pretty simple.
Gotta love tariffs.

I see some cards like Asus went up on MC but not others. At this point the FE and Windforce models are the only ones you can get at the original $2000 price.

Can’t find 5090? Just spend 4k on 4090 in stock at Newegg

I had myself budgeted for new gaming/photoshop pc around 5090/9950x3d. Now … shrugs. Maybe I will get 9070xt and wait??

Nonsense! You can still buy a 3090 just a bit above MSRP.

I still don’t regret paying a scalper for my 4090FE. Sure, he made a few hundred bucks (like $200 at best after markup and sellers fees), but he could have made so much more…

I just checked ebay and apparently used FE cards are selling for more than what I paid for it, so yep, no regrets at all lol

EDIT: My 3090 as well. Wasn’t an FE card, but it was a rare EVGA model, should probably list that one, my 1080ti has a home, but my 3090 is actually collecting dust.

I have got to start selling more of my old hardware.

I got mine from a scalper too but it was the msrp+tax price with no markup. I have offers to sell for more than that too, but only if I can actually find a 5090.

FB marketplace prices are a bit better than ebay if you want a 4090.

Storage locker. Sell nothing, hoard everything.
