Nvidia sure does have a lame generation this time around. They are really bad with VRAM on everything but the 5090 and 5070 Ti. The 5080 should have 24GB, the 5070 16GB, and the 5060/Ti 12GB. They cut back on L2 cache (saving them money) and made up for it with GDDR7 which they supply to the AIB's so they'll set the prices. Either Nvidia was counting on 3GB chips or just doesn't care about gamers.

I don't think most of the cards will age well and the inevitable Super variants will increast VRAM to what it should have been. AMD had a great chance here but killed off their large die chip long ago. Hopefully Intel has plans for a B7xx series.
But hey, 5060 Ti will get 16GB variant, which is fine. Depending on the price and performance it might actually be pretty decent card. 12 GB on 5070 and 16 GB on 5080 really hurts though (5070 Ti is borderline).

They will sell one card and it will go OOS?
My guess is they will let at least that one sku sell through fully - who knows they might have 10 or 100? - then that sale is done and that price is gone unless the market changes.

Of course that's just "IMO", it will be interesting to see. If people are in the market and can get to MC, I think they should just buy it and then figure out if they want it.

Unsurprisngly Tom's give it a glowing review, gets called out for it the comments, and they lock the comments. Sounds about right!
Meh, if you can find it at $750, it's a good enough bump up at stock, and with overclocking it's almost a real generational leap in performance.

Also, this seems reasonable, not glowing? This would be my assessment, but again, only at $750. At $900+, forget about it.

"If you're still using something like a 3070 Ti or 2070 Super, the 5070 Ti should offer a pretty massive improvement in performance. Is it enough to get people to upgrade? For some, we're sure the answer will be yes, but if you're already sporting something like an RTX 4070 Ti Super or even an RTX 4070, this will likely be an easy generation to sit out."

Has anyone tested overclocking? It would have to add a lot to the 15-25% increase to be a "generalational upgrade". And that's compared to the 4070 Ti. More than a refresh, certainly not generation IMHO.

1 click OC FTW. I am not hunting for stable settings, and it looks like a great result.

It sounds like a lot or reviewers didn't get their card in time or at the least very late. So there will probably be more info still to come.
