That's assuming that the existing customers with their massive AI deployments get enough ROI to consider moving to the nextgen as soon as it is released. I have my doubts on that. No one has unlimited money to burn and at some point, the market will be overflowing with used AI hardware which may become affordable for newer startups and cause more disruption for the bigger players, just like Deepseek did.I don't know if they were afraid so much as they realized there was an absolutely massive pile of money free for the taking by getting to it first.
Jensen seems to be betting on AI demand going on forever but how long before everyone hits some roadblock where almost everyone has the same thing to offer to their paying customers and then the weaker companies start dying off one by one? RDNA4 has shown that Nvidia isn't the end all and be all of RT and if RDNA5 is able to do path tracing as well as or better than RTX 6000 series, Nvidia may face the Geforce FX situation all over again.
