I think your post is unnecessarily harsh (to put it mildly) and I sure see parallels in respect to NVDA and Apple. I see the merits of Apple products but their success is disproportionate to the products and services they offer, IMO. Same with Nvidia, they don't make hardware good enough to command 80% of the market, no way at all.

What really stands out for me is how poorly Nvidia GPUs have aged, this is a glaring issue that review sites don't even mention. What good is the hardware if in 2-3 years it falls way behind relative to the competition at the time.

I will edit it down... It's just like the 4th time I've seen him do that in the last week. It's stale, and an awful comparison (especially considering nvidia is a chip/component maker vs Apple makes whole products). The best comparison would be to intel. There are parallels only if you attribute bad qualities to Apple. What does Apple do that Nvidia does, besides proprietary standards? I can't think of a single thing they do that's similar besides market products well and make money. Where is the nvidia store? Does nvidia back its products up like Apple does? It doesn't appear that they do.

I see this happen all the time on this forum, the blind hatred for all things related to Apple. It's really, really stupid and it discredits everything that you say when you suggest Apple is giving people shoddy products with the iphone 6 or macbook. And people here should know better, half of them use macbooks.

Can't argue with success. Heck Nvidia buyers are upgrading to a more expensive NV product after they were lied to, what possible incentive does Nvidia have to ever be open and honest about anything? They are being rewarded for deception.

I don't think it's so awful, but I would agree that Nvidia is not on the same level as Apple when it comes to innovation, not even close. The original iPhone to me is one of the most revolutionary pieces of tech ever created.

I don't think this issue is on the shoulders on Nvidia OR AMD. Its been years since we've had a new process node, and graphics are advancing at an even greater pace. Furthermore, this is cutting edge tech we're talking about, it's expected to become obsolete in a few years, no?

One thing to mention is that they are and have been making great products one after the next. I feel this is why on the flip side, their so called deception (which imo can't be proved either way) doesn't harm them too much whereas if they had poor performing products it would be a whole new different story.

Gameworks is the major reason I am wondering whether I want to continue PC Gaming right now.
If we start working towards a point where you essentially have to own Nvidia GPUs in order to play Gameworks games then I may give up PC Gaming. Don't want to be held hostage by one vendor on both CPU and GPU moving forward on PC. Would rather just get used to whatever these weak consoles offer me.

So it's ok to be held hostage with a console which is basically a PC but not on PC which is basically a PC just because it's not the same as the old definition of PC?. The thinking...it hurts!!

Please don't pretend like there isn't a difference.

You don't have to defend every part about a platform just because you prefer it. Hardware/Gaming Community takes loyalty way too far. Jesus, I saw a person refusing to use Bordless Window Mode recently because he had "been faithful to Fullscreen for a long time now. Are the benefits of Bordless Window Mode worth it? I really don't want to leave Fullscreen mode for gaming I've used it for so long."

It just gets ridiculous sometimes.

I wouldn't worry about GW. For one, you don't have to have an NVidia card to simply play the game, just to enable certain features. Secondly, it seems that those features are so poorly implemented in games that performance tanks anyway.

I'm also not sure where you got the idea that you have to have a certain type of CPU either.
