Ordered through Dell. ETA end of August.
Oh were they able to price match? They didn't for me. But now that the add to cart link on best buy is visible they should. I would think Dell had it on hand. I hope I get mine Tuesday.

I got the 1070 through them not the monitor. Dell price matches after the fact too. You should try that.

Why are you waiting until the end of August for a 1070? In my experience, when Dell gives you an ETA that far out, it means they're pretty likely to cancel. Was it really that much cheaper than everywhere else?

Cause I have a few thousand in Dell gift cards to blow

I've actually ran out of things I wanted to buy on their site and was just gonna give my money to a friend. GTX 1070 seemed like a decent upgrade from my 290 so I just went for that and gave the remainder away lol.

So if I were to show them the old slick deals listing with the price of $450 they would price match that? I think they would likely say well it's $470 now on best buy's site.

Which 1070 did you go with?

Since I don't have my monitor yet i hope to get either a notification about the $399 gigabyte model or find a coupon to knock some if the more expensive models down a bit.

The gigabyte 1070 was in stock Tuesday night for a couple hours. Of course with my luck the minute I decided to place the order since the
-$25 coupon wasn't valid anymore, it goes through and gets cancelled by newegg lol.

I mean if Best Buy's price goes back down in the next month or so, I think you have like 30 days to price match after you receive the item.

Dell only has the PNY GTX 1070 Founder's Edition. It was $449 + tax so $485. I would have got the 1080 Founder's Edition at $755 but I felt that would have been an overkill with my rig and the amount of gaming I actually do nowadays.

Now to sell my R9 290 hopefully for $200ish.

The gigabyte g1 is in stock for $429. Last time this came in the $399 model also showed up. I'm on there now refreshing. If I could get it down to $404 with shipping I'd take it now I suppose.

Jet.com has Asus ROG Strix (OC version supposedly) for just shy of $380 shipped:

http://slickdeals.net/f/8972179-asu...392-52-after-discounts-on-jet-com?v=1&src=pdw
So I hear jet is not an authorized retailer so you are screwed out of warranty. Comes out to $392 after the new user coupon. They also won't accept PayPal. To get it down to $383 you have to opt out of returns.

I've heard some users got back ordered. Tomorrow jet is also having an electronics sale. I wonder if it's safer for me to wait and order via PayPal on newegg if I can find a discount. I don't trust my card on their site.

Jet is not but Newegg is. It comes from newegg and uses a newegg packing slip. You can look up and print an official Newegg invoice with that number. All Asus needs for warranty service is serial number, purchase date, and invoice which you can get on Newegg's website with the order number printed on the packing slip.

You won't know where it's coming from until you receive it. But given that no other shops have this model, it's likely Newegg. Not sure why they'd send any of their 1070s through Jet though.

To be clear, Jet.com is just a clearinghouse. They stock no products and ship no merchandise. All of the items they list are actually inventory of partner retailers, like Newegg, or more often 2nd-tier stores and distributors, which ship the products to you directly.

I've purchased a bunch of items from Jet.com. Only one, a G.Skill RAM kit, came from Newegg. Everything else was from unknown outfits that often have no consumer-facing website.

Very interesting, thanks for that info. How does a company like jet.com make money then?

They search the net for various prices and set theirs accordingly. Since they are a third party vendor, they are like a middle man and get their stock from various places.

They offer lower prices if you pay by debit and opt out of free returns since it saves them shipping. They don't deal with the manufacturer most likely.

I notice that some of their prices for these cards are more than newegg at times unless you use some coupons.

I didn't pull the trigger on the asus strix. They advertised it as the OC model with the boost clock of 1860 but later they changed the description and took that out.

While I was debating ordering, the price changed too. Not knowing where it's from also worries me although most of these should be newegg. Would hate to get a bad one and then manufacturer could deny it if it didn't have a newegg packing slip.

Son of a B. I think my computer might be on its way out. After I turned it off yesterday now it's having trouble posting or if it does it just locks. I'll play a bit troubleshooting but I guess it might be time for a new mobo.

I would remove piece by piece until you have just the bare minimum required to run the OS and troubleshoot that way. Try one stick of ram first with integrated graphics. It could be either memory, CPU going or the board itself.

I would put the mobo to defaults too and remove any overclocks.

Your system is about six years old. Why not use that Dell credit to order an XPS desktop and drop the new 1070 you ordered into it?

I normally don't buy dells but my father used to work for the government so he got discounts a lot and all we had was Dell computers at the house.

The xps series is pretty much their best. I have an xps 410 that I got years and years ago which I put a q6600 in and a gtx 8800 one time and that thing still runs.

I'll also vouch for their xps laptops. Their previous xps 15 2007 model ran up until I gave it away 4 years ago.

I currently own the new xps 15 now and I love it.

I mean I've upgraded parts throughout the years such as my case, PSU, SSD etc so I feel like buying a set system would be a waste. I would just need a couple, mobo, ram and wouldn't go all top end this time.

It posted this morning but I had to leave before I could do any testing. Might be cause of the extreme heat yesterday.

Got an email from best buy and just went and picked up the Dell s2176dg. Box is huge lets hope this fits on my desk.

Don't have the 1070 so I'll have to deal with that until I can get the cheapest gigabyte model.

Some XPS models barely cost more than the cpu, motherboard, and RAM. Look for a stripped down one with a Core i7.

Got my EVGA SC 1070 today - not looking good so far. I'm getting flashing red squares all over the screen and the display driver will crash or the whole system will just lock up, even after running DDU to clean out old drivers.

I noticed the fans aren't spinning, but I think that's normal for this card in 2D. It's so unstable I can't even get anywhere close to starting a game. Any suggestions before I contact support?

Cool....Box is a lot larger as it has a decent buffer zone around the monitor for protection.

iGPU isn't going to be fun.

Your more patient than I am as far as the 1070 purchase goes.

Might be doa.

Double check power connectors, swap if possible. Make sure card is seated correctly. Sometimes a cmost reset or bios update works.
