<----- Team BitBoys

They WILL deliver and pwnz you all! I can't wait to run Duke Nukem 4Ever on My BitBoys L337 Terminator Extreme PCI 32x Express with a GIG of Ram and 4 GPUs clocked at 2 Ghz EACH! I think i'l get Four and run them in Ultra SLI.

Hmm. Is there a team 3DLabs, or a team Matrox Millennium Multi-Monitor? (the 4M club?). I've been slowly executing my secret plot to covertly stockpile the world's supply of remaining Matrox Millennium PCI cards, because their discrete TI RAMDACs support sync-on-green monitors. I've got 5 stockpiled already, and am still looking for more.

Or perhaps I should lead "Team Obsolete", since I stockpile many varieties of older-model video cards, just because. I at one point had a complete collection of ATI Mach64 boards in every variety (ISA, VLB, and PCI). I shudder to think about how much those cost me originally. I still have a full-length 8-bit ISA card here someplace, labeled "color video graphics adaptor". I don't think it's an offical IBM one, I think that it must be a CGA clone board. I also have an NVidia NV-1 based board, new-in-box. (Rollo, if you have interest in this semi-collector's-item, PM me. I'm not all that attached to it. It's a curious critter, it's totally Direct3D-incompatible, being that it used textured quadratic surfaces rather than polygons. It's the card that almost killed the company.)

The first video card I ever had that I thought of as "more" than a PC component was a VLB ATI Mach 32 with 2MB VRAM. I thought Doom on that was a revelation.

The only old nVidia card I wish to own again is a 5800 Ultra. I'd also like a MAXX, and a V5. Ironically I've owned all of these, probably should have just kept them.

There's team Matrox, but if you want me to create team 3DLabs I'll be happy to do it.

Nvidia could have released the best card in the world and it would fall on deaf ears here. I have hated Nvida after a CPU issue had a interview with the CEO of Nvidia and I am disgusted by his answer that I will not buy SLi no matter if you would give me free 6800 Ultra Extreme Editions( made by eVGA). I am only buying a 6600GT AGP from XFX because it is better thean 9800XT. ATI ROCKS.

LOL

You won't take Ultra SLI for free, but you'll buy a 6600GT? Because of something nVidia's CEO said.

Uh huh.

Makes sense to me.........

^ I don't get his angle either...

Wouldn't take a free 6800UE but will pay for a 6600GT. Oooookaaaay!

Let's construct a similar argument for another company:

'I hate Microsoft and would never buy any of their products and wouldn't take a free copy of Windows Advanced Server 2003 if you forced it on me. I do run Windows XP and own an Xbox though.'

On second thought, I don't see anything wrong with this view. Do you?
