they're not 3 and 4 way bridges. They're for different slot spacing of two cards.

Oh balls!!!!

Those are all 2-way SLI bridges. The reason the sizes differ is to accommodate different PCIe spacing. NV ran the VR Works demo with a custom 3-Way bridge but the 3rd 1080 was only a dedicated PhysX card.
http://www.tweaktown.com/news/52081...e-pictured-gtx-1080-supports-2-way/index.html

Since 2 SLI fingers are required for 2GB/sec, you cannot have HB beyond 2 cards, essentially eliminating the feature.

So maybe you can still have 3 and 4 way but it will just be gimped. That's fine I guess.

I'll still get them even if 2-Way is the only way. I'll just add a Asus Xonar Essence STX II and a Samsung 950 Pro. Since I'd have more space and available PCI-E lanes.

If you like LEDs, this one should do it:

:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

GTX 1080 Tokyo Drift? Yuck..

My Lightning also looked like a ricer, as I really never card for the card's aesthetic.

Anyway, I hope the the 1070 can hit 10Ghz on the memory. It should help the card immensely at higher resolutions. At this point, if I decide to get a GTX 1070 I'm still not sure if I can wait that long for a custom card...Probably July until we start seeing them. FO4 @ 1440p even with pretty modest settings in not so great on my 7970 GE.

This is what I'm hedging my bets on. The AIB's aren't going to sit around and let NV rake in all the money with the Founder's Editions. So far I've seen two "custom" 1080s and the possible silhouette of another.

Hopefully EVGA got something good planned. I'd go for their ACX versions since I know (now) it's a good custom cooler but most importantly a ref PCB.

Found this over on OCN

Damn, assuming the stuttering and frame drops still occur, that's probably playable!

Intriguing, but not very useful without associated clock speed and memory speeds for each.

This is precisely what happened with Titan X last time. nVidia was the sole supplier initially. Now they want $100 + initial orders is my wag. They like $$$.

I like $$$ too. The market will sort this out. I'm going to do what I can for the market and buy an AIB card that is $600 rather than jump on the FE.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Performance

You may or you man not like 3DMark benchmarks, but I think they are very good indicators of what GPUs are capable of. While those values barely ever translate into gaming performance, they serve as a base for architecture comparisons.

This time to simplify the chart we are not using overclocked and multi-gpu results. I think this way it’s more readable, especially since we added 5 different benchmarks into one chart.

All cards in this comparison are using stock settings. The variance for GTX 1080 clocks is between 1860 to 1886 MHz, probably caused by new GPU Boost 3.0 technology.

We are leaving the interpretation of this chart to you.

Impressive.

Can someone explain to me where anyone is getting drivers to be able to actually run these cards? I go to the nvidia site and I don't see an option for 1000 series anywhere in the driver selection... I'm thinking... drivers don't even exist yet? Are everyone trying to post results "with these cards running" are fake? Or are people just taking the current 900 series drivers and editing the inf files to add hardware-ID's and then force loading em for the GTX 1080's?

Plenty of people have cards in hand, NDA lift is supposedly less than a week away. Leaks are bound to happen, with drivers that were given with the card. These won't be public, though...

Geforce GTX 1080 - GFXBench Manhattan 3.1 Offscreen Scores

- Geforce GTX 1080: 480.4 FPS
- Geforce GTX 980 (Average Score): 306.9 FPS (56% Faster)
- Geforce GTX 980 (Best Score): 372,6 (29% Faster)
- Geforce GTX 980 Ti (Average Score): 366.9 FPS (31% Faster)
- Geforce GTX 980 Ti (Best Score): 437.7 FPS (10% Faster)

Just ran it on my GTX980 at stock speeds, since the averages above contains OC results. I get 286.947FPS stock. That means the GTX1080 is 67.4% faster.

and now GTX1080 OC at 2114MHz:
http://videocardz.com/59882/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-3dmark-overclocking-performance

This time we only have FireStrike scores. According to the leaker GTX 1080 was running at 2114 MHz clock, which is roughly 381 MHz more than stock 1733 MHz boost clock. This is the first time new Pascal GP104-based graphics cards shows its true potential. We are observing a substantial boost in performance, GTX 1080 has 152/161/161% of GTX TITAN X stock performance in FireStrike Performance/Extreme and Ultra respectively.

2 times faster than GTX980 stock and 3 times faster than GTX970 stock

only missing now are the benches from custom AIBs running OC at 2.4GHz

This is what I want to see. Was telling the GF I remember when an OC was 325mhz to 390mhz and you prayed it was stable Haha.
