But can it play Crysis?
Surely by now we should be asking how many instances of Crysis can it run at once.

Hahaha, true.
and me with my lowly single GTX 770... even with a 3770k @ 4.8 ghz, still can't maintain solid 60 FPS in Crysis 1 @ DX-10 1080p.
Got word a friend of mine is supposed to gift me (free) his pair of GTX 970's when he upgrades to 1080's at least so.. :>
That's pretty much 2x 980TI at 2.5Ghz
That chart is 20% faster than Titan x stock.Custom Geforce GTX 1070 by MSI:
Latest rumour by Chiphell says it's only 15-20% slower than a Geforce GTX 1080.
Apparently custom Geforce GTX 1080 has no problem hitting an insane 2.5 GHz @ water:
Almost 50% faster than stock clock scores (by VideoCardz):

That reaction GIF does not reassure me!!!
But sweet on custom cards second week in Japan, make that same here!!!
I can't wait "months"!
You can't compare today's prices vs new launch prices. When the GTX 980 first launched brand new last year, it originally retailed at $649. The $700 card is nvidia's reference design that is being sold first. There will be $599 GTX 1080 cards a few weeks to a month later. That's -$50 less than 980 when comparing launch-day pricing.
Nope GTX980 launch price was 549USD

GTX980TI launch at 650USD

Its still more expensive than GTX980TI and +150USD vs original GTX980.
Hello.
Since Pascal will be faster in VR, will it also be faster in current 3D stereoscopic gaming too?
I am particularly interested if the new tech will be faster by using Tridef.
Anyone can shed some light?
Oh ok. No problem.
Just thought to ask in case anyone had any more in depth understanding of how these things work, than I do.
I mean all I know is that for stereoscopic 3D and VR (VR is still also stereoscopic 3D essentially, right?) you need to render each frame twice, in different angles hence giving that 3D feel, right?
That's why the rendering requirements go up 100% when in stereoscopic 3D. And to add insult to injury, if your card has the power to render your game at less than 60fps, your game will instantly be rendered at 30fps, since vsync is enforced in stereoscopic 3D, for good reason too.
Now if Nvidia has found a secret sauce to accelerate the rendering of left and right eye frames, that would be awesome. But I guess we'll see.
thanks
