I don’t think he understands that he’s now in the “feels” camp and no longer a member of the “reals” camp. I get it, traumatic life experiences are very hard to put aside for broader big picture realities. He doesn’t feel safe, therefore no one feels safe, he was attacked therefore many others must have been attacked too.
There is a reason Fox and right wing media hammer stories that focus on emotional responses instead of pushing empirical information, it’s easier to create a narrative and it’s almost impossible to counter it with actual facts. Once you can manipulate people some of the time you can manipulate them all of the time.
