It was like that for me also. I wouldn't ask many girls out though as I couldn't be bothered about them. I just stayed friends with them.

The school and the place I was at had been the same for 7 years so I got to know everyone and they see you as the guy blah blah from 5 years back. They noticed the change in my body as I started to work out 3 years ago but they thought of me as the same person. Didn't matter as I didn't fancy them.

Went to a Uni in London, got a bigger circle of friends through really random things and met loads of different people. Hit it off, find a girl I fancied then got her number and started to get to know each other.

Maybe a woman, but most of us guys here are dealing with girls...that's a whole different ball game. I don't know what defines a girl from a woman...probably immaturity, a lack of exposure to the real world, and no sense of definition as a person. Unfortunately a woman I was with turned out to be a girl...thus, I got the shaft.

BTW, Koing, she's gorgeous. If you've been with her for 6 months I'm sure she has the personality to match. Congrats.

Kashmiris are fair casue they are form the mountains...as are some Pakistanis. most punjabis are fair too, but just thought about that now.

madindian: skin color is not the only difference. Punjabis have a tendency to be much taller, and bigger. They also have longer noses and thinner lips than most other Indians. I have very close Gujurati friends and have been to numerous parties where i see uncles and aunties like 4'10" or 5'2". But when I go to Punjabi parties the women are like 5'4" or more, and the men are ususually 5'10" plus. also, the fair pakistanis are of the same race as the Indian Punjabis. they are Punjabi too, speak it, same culture, etc... our family is from PK but we are Arya Samajis/Hindus, yet I have so much more in common with a Pakistani Punjabi then i seem to do with say a Gujurati or South Indian... kinda sad about the state of affairs between the two nations.

grasshopper is right. unlike guys, all sorts of things spark attraction in girls. i acutally find dorkiness/geekness a little cute being funny, smart, involved, motivated, etc, etc....any number of things are attractive. So, you never know until you try. Rejection can be tough, but when it works out, its the best story EVAR.

edit: and you dueling desis- I have been seen enough indians to know that you can never predict for sure. While most people have some sort of typical characteristic that betrays their particular region of India, there are always (many) who don't follow that formula at all. I acutally think that Koing's gf is pretty typical of an indian, north especially.
