From what I read online, it seems like more dems listen to Rush then republicans. I'm still convinced that heavily biased media is created only to get the other side listening in.
The shows with an ideology - right, left, *or 'moderate'* - are targetted to, and mostly attract, people who agree.
A few shows try to broaden their audiences - the main one that comes to mind is Bill Maher - but he doesn't do that well. He invites a mix of guests, but frequently finds himself apologizing to the conservative guests for his audience's reactions to them, and complains how he can't get more right-wingers in his audience.
Another two are Thom Hartmann and Bill Moyers, who make a point of trying to engage people on the right, but their audiences remain mostly liberal, is my impression.
