The shows with an ideology - right, left, *or 'moderate'* - are targetted to, and mostly attract, people who agree.

A few shows try to broaden their audiences - the main one that comes to mind is Bill Maher - but he doesn't do that well. He invites a mix of guests, but frequently finds himself apologizing to the conservative guests for his audience's reactions to them, and complains how he can't get more right-wingers in his audience.

Another two are Thom Hartmann and Bill Moyers, who make a point of trying to engage people on the right, but their audiences remain mostly liberal, is my impression.

Well it costs a lot of money to wage unnecessary wars.

If the current stimulus plan goes through we're about to spend more in total trying to rescue our economy than we have spent in Iraq over nearly 6 years, and we all know that the stimulus plan will only be a temporary patch on things. I'm not convinced that a lack of invading Iraq would have changed this outcome either. The economy was due for a fall. It just happened to have happened near the end of a president's time in office...just like last time.

Well I certainly hope we would be spending more on our economy than we would on unnecessary wars.

Iraq is a wise investment compared to dumping that money into our economy at the moment. But at least it will demonstrate to you what failure REALLY looks like.
