I wonder how much longer I'll have to wait for the PC version after the xbox360 version is out Nov 25?

Spending $400 extra just to play it 6 months sooner is too rich for my blood.

That is going to be so amazing.

I'm less concerned about when the PC games come out as to if it will suck because they developed it for console more.

If it comes out during my winter break, this will by my winter break by the numbers:

1 Game
200 hours of gameplay
3 weeks
66 2/3 hours a week
40 hours of work a week
8 hours of transportation to and from work a week
40 minutes a week of preparing food and showering
that leaves 18 a week for sleep
2.5 hours a day

It'd be worth it The alternative would be to not do any work all quarter.

Should be in 1st and 3rd person perspective, just like in Morrowind.

Now if I can just get ahold of a nice Xbox 360 preorder that A) includes the HDD and B) doesn't force me to buy several games I don't want.

I tried to get into Morrowind but couldn't. I really disliked the combat. It sounds like they've focused on that quite a bit for Oblivion. I like the blocking technique that they mention in the previews. Should make combat more interesting.

There are still some negatives that they either need to adjust or give me enough positives to not care about the negatives as much. For example, shopkeepers knowing all of your stolen items immediately and not buying anything stolen. In a way, that's kinda unrealistic. But, I imagine, for the die-hard thieves out there, there will be access to the Thieves' Guild where one could probably get rid of such items easier...

All in all, this is one of the games I am eagerly awaiting (along with AOE3).

I enjoyed my experience with Morrowind a greal deal, but the story seemed rather shallow for an RPG.

The release date for the pc version is the same as the xbox360 version right?? Weren't both versions developed at the same time???

Either way I'm sticking with the pc version. Morrowind had just wonderful mod support..so much great stuff to download for it and I'm sure Oblivion will be just the same. Anything that hardcore pc gamers don't like about the game will surely get "fixed" with mods and stuff.

Same here. I bought Morrowind when it first game out and I really couldn't get into it at all. I've probably installed/unstalled it 5 times since then with various patches and mods and I still couldn't enjoy it. Oddly, the character animation was a huge factor in me not liking Morrowind. I couldn't get immersed when everyone walked as if they had wooden peg legs. Normally I'm not one to be bothered by this in games.

Obvilion sounds good on paper (like a lot of games these days), but I'm not going to know until it's on my PC. From what I've already heard, the characters animations still look like crap. I hope it isn't so.

200+ dungeons? Are these things randomly generated like in Daggerfall? Cause I really hope not.

Sure thing. Look for it on your doorstep the morning it's released.

EDIT: Forgot to ask, what the hell is this Oblivion game you guys keep crowing about? (No pun intended towards the OP )
