Same here. I bought Morrowind when it first game out and I really couldn't get into it at all. I've probably installed/unstalled it 5 times since then with various patches and mods and I still couldn't enjoy it. Oddly, the character animation was a huge factor in me not liking Morrowind. I couldn't get immersed when everyone walked as if they had wooden peg legs. Normally I'm not one to be bothered by this in games.

Obvilion sounds good on paper (like a lot of games these days), but I'm not going to know until it's on my PC. From what I've already heard, the characters animations still look like crap. I hope it isn't so.

The animations were pretty awful I must admit. Hasn't Bethesda ever heard of motion capture?

One of the lead developers for Oblivion indicated to Jakub at Firingsquad.com that a 6800U SLI setup was inferior to the Xbox360 when it came to looks and fps. Of course, the Xbox only has to run it at 720x480, which would look like absolute sh!t on a monitor. Bethesda is not known for their efficient coding either.

Likewise. The thing that killed it for me was First Person melee, slow walking and I lacked the direction of a linear game.

Now, if only someone would buy me a powerful PC and give me Hellgate: London

You'll be able to switch between 1st and 3rd person perspective. I can't wait for ths game. I think I'll have to take a vacation day or two when it comes out.

I just don't know, I am not wanting to upgrade yet again after I've already upgraded this year. I just also don't know but the game seems to good to be true.

Morrwind was really fun until you started playing it like the developers intended. Meaning that once you started really exploring and doing things, your character became far, far, far too powerful. Even on the hardest difficult I could kill the most powerful creatures in about 2 hits. I remember when I became the head of the mages guild, killing the archmage took literally less than a second. Was pretty anitclimactic. The whole game just fell apart if your character got ahold of any decent weapons or you even vaguely tried to improve your character. I think after creating the moderately sized, fairly impressive world they just said "screw it, noones gonna actually take us up on the offer to explore and do things, lets not worry too much about balance and just ship it".

Ill probably pass on Oblivion, esepecially considering its obvious conole bias it will probably be quiet terrible once you get past the WOW factor of everything.

Reasons morrowind was overrated:

Lack of economy, only one guy had anywhere near a sizeable amount of money.

Walk...walk...walk...Ohhh dust storm...walk...walk...walk *running has increased by 1*

Alchemy...serious wtf were they thinking. Just for kicks I made some intelligence potions. This allows you to make better potions. Make more potions with better stats, etc, etc about 5-6 minutes later... Making +1000000000 intelligence potions. No I'm not kidding, there is no limit to how high your potions go. They also all stack. So I made a Strength potion for +1000000000, hit an enemy one shot kill and break my weapon... So I make a speed potion +100000000 tap forward once and I'm in some weird void, tap back and I'm still lost beyond the game borders. Ok time to quit...

Nope. Nothing randomly generated.

Will Oblivion include multiplayer?
No, Oblivion is a single-player game only. Rather than split our focus between two different types of gameplay, we'd rather focus on one and make it the best single-player experience possible.

I find it really hard to believe that there are 200+, unique, non randomly generated dungeons in the game. The amount of time it would take to build all that would take more than a decade.

They are randomly generated prior to putting them in the game. Once in the game they are unique.

Now if they ever made these types of games with the multiplayer and the Diablo 2 type questing system...

Actually all XBox 360 games are at least 720p (1280x720) with 4x FSAA.

Watch the trailer fellas. Each dungeon was hand-crafted. Only the forests are randomly-generated. They actually sent some devs to the U of Maryland to study geology so they could prefect the rules for forest-randomization.

Oh, and the voice cast. Patrick Stewart is the emperor, Sean Bean (Boromir) and some other famous dude are there, too.
