OCing with the nForce

Well I've made it to 172 FSB. I'm using the Asus A7N266-C with Micron 128MB Ram PC2100 CL 2.5. I'll try to get WCPUID pics up soon, and I'll get my 3DMark scores, too.

What are your results so far?

What HSF are you using?

I can't get above 140 w/o losing stability.

Angela plz give all your adjustements and ram voltages.
Doctor, I think ur DDR is not good enough. I try with Mushkin pc 2400 and i try to 150 and 160 fsb without changing any voltage. I am sure with a higher voltage and my Tbird Axia 1.2 i can reach very high fsb.

Well, I tried running 3dmark 2001 and it kept restarting . However it ran stable up to 168 mhz. I went down to 163 because I want to run at 1460 mhz. If i go past 1470 mhz, the system has issues.

I just raised the FSB and lowered the CL rating. Didn't mess with voltages. I might try it though, now that you mention it.

I'm using the Thermalright SK-6 hsf.

I raised the DDR voltage to 2.7V and now i'm running 172 mhz stable! No restarts in 3d mark 2001
I'm gonna go higher now. Wish my VCore could go higher than 1.95V

Well, I'm maxed out at 172. It's been fun. At 175, the thing won't post. That extra voltage pushed some more out of my ram.

Hehe, I never thought this board and ram would've oc'd this good!

Btw, I'm only using Air cooling on the cpu, passive cooling on the nforce northbridge, and no cooling on the ram.

- 512 Mo mushkin cas 2 turbo
- Xp 1800+
- Radeon 8500 Le
- Windows Xp

A 7145, A 200 mark improvment from the test I took at 153 mhz FSB


Note, my GeForce 3 Ti200 is oc'd to 210/480. I don't know how people are getting in the 7500s with same card, lower FSB and cpu clock.

I looked through all the scores, and It looks like drivers are a big difference between the higher scorers and my card.

Well, I went down to the 23.11 drivers, changed mem timings to 2.5 Turbo, and raised my Ti200 clock to 215/490 and I scored a 7768. Here's a compare link. http://service.madonion.com/compare?2k1=2981226

I've ordered this board, Micron 2100 CAS 2.5 DDR-RAM as well. Pairing it with an Athlon XP 1900+ that I am too technically inept to bother unlocking. I wonder if I can nudge it up (What's this about this board's locked PCI speed?) a little.

Cheap little Arkua 6129 HSF though (which had one good review)
