Hi I've read a little about OCZ (http://ocztech.com/) and they have some nice information about their memories and they really look good.
But when I read a little here on anandtech-forums it seems that OCZ is not any reliable.

Is there anyone here that has OCZ-memories (PC2700 or PC3000)?
How do they perform?
Why should I NOT buy those?

Why not buy Kingmax, or corsair memory. OCZ is just regular memory that overclocks well. Go for the Kingmax tinybga or the corsair ones, it's far better than OCZ. Look at resellerratings, their ratings are horrible, thats why I would not buy from them.

Thanks for the tip. So you're saying just buy regular memory and overclock it?? How well does crucial compare to kingmax and corsair when it comes to overclocking?? I've never OCed memory before.

Buy Corsair, KingMax, or Mushkin. DO NOT give OCZ your money. They are conartist at best. Do a search for OCZ on AT forums and also go to Resellerratings.com Don't help them stay in business.

Corsair sells XMS 2400 and 2700. Mushkin does the same. These guys know how to make GOOD memory and they are highly reputable companies at that. Personally i want the Corsair...but Muskin is just as nice.

Crucial only sells PC2100. But some of them do overclock nicely. But it's a hit or miss. Mine only does 145mhz. I have another stick coming in...i will see what it does.

my first stick of memory from OCZ was generic pcb with MT chips on it. and my last two sticks have been NANYA. i have yet to test the NANYA out or the other one

i can say i wont be buying from ever again cause of my last purchase order took 2 months to get to me. after several mishipments on thier part and also sending the wrong items .

Corsair made me a believer in their quality with PC150 CL2. Mushkin is rated as highly.

they test the mem overclocked to see if it can perform at a higher rating...and then they rate it that speed.
it's just other manufacturers' memory technology, not theirs...they use various stuff from mushkin, crucial, etc.

crucial (micron) tends to o/c the best...i mean, the pc2100 stuff oc's even better than corsair's pc2400 stuff...
kingmax and nanya are producing pc2700 now i believe..

I have a 256mb stick of OCZ Performance DDR, never had a problem with it, very fast also, it handles 1T commands with ease, even at CAS2 latency

OCZ ram looks very tempting... almost too good to be true especially at a time when Ram prices are as high as they are... Folks over at Newegg.com have reported great results from OCZ ram and are running their Iwill XP333 fsb @ 190+ with the OCZ PC3000, systems are stable too...and that is pretty damn impressive. The Iwill boards have the ability to up the divider, so I am even more tempted to get an Iwill board and some OCZ PC3000 and overclock that sucker. OCZ PC3000 is only $89 @ Newegg (which isn't even the cheapest via pricewatch, but newegg seems to be very trustworthy to most buyers) which isn't that bad compared to other prices of even PC2100 ram from Corsair or Crucial. Kingmax PC2700 costs $92, which is more than the OCZ PC3000 module... "real" DDR333... you'd have to run the OCZ PC3000 below guaranteed specs to achieve 333MHz...

Not ony does OCZ boast impressive overclocking potential, it isn't as expensive as Corsair or Mushkin...even Crucial. $150 can get a 512MB PC2400 CL2/CAS2 stick of ram, a similar Corsair module costs nearly $50 more. Heck, I may just end up getting myself some of that. More memory for the dollar and leaves room to expand...

Bunnyfubbles: If you buy, let me know if they're good or not!

I can't really understand if they're good or not, maybe they changed to the better, or?

<< jen: how did you isolate the memory? are you sure it isnt something else? >>

i first thought it was the settings in the bios as i had set them very aggressive. so i reset them back to auto and then speed of processor to stock as well. the problem remained......random rebooting . so then i did a reinstall of the OS thinking i had corrupted the registry etc that didnt solve it either. i had another stick of memory so i changed that and the problem went away.........

that's the first i've heard of ocz memory going bad. the only complaint i always hear is their slow shipping and bad customer service (although i've ordered from them several times before, and even had to return stuff to them, and i've never had the slightest problem). been running the memory i had from them for more than a year, overclocked, and i havent had a problem with them, either. i guess i've just had some great luck!

One can get OCZ memory at newegg for much less money than the Corsair or Kingmax PC2700/3000 stuff. You don't have to buy from OCZ directly. The question is how good/reliable their memory is. It's not like they friggin make it anyway.

I ordered several items from the overclockerz store, including 2 256mb sticks fo pc-2400 ddr and a dragon orb 3. The items were shown as being in stock on their web site, but I did not recieve them. My invoice says they are backordered, yet they charged my credit card. Their web site still shows they are in stock. I attempted to call them today, in order to find out how long the delay would be and was on hold for an hour and half. No one ever answeared. I was supposed to be the next call taken. I then attempted to email all of the accounts listed on the ocz store site. None of the emails would go through. I am going to attempt to call again monday. If I can't get through, I will contact my credit card and refute the charge. This company sucks. I will never buy from them again. I should have stuck with crucial. That's what I get for trying to save 10 bucks. Thanks for reading my rant.

A lot of you peeps say that the service and support are not good.

But what do you really think about the OCZ-hardware itself?
