Eh, not much for phase change. People spend more than that on a video card all the time.

Its expensive for a 13 year old with no job!! My next video card wont be coming for 4 or 5 months!

Phase change isn't that expensive to produce. The fact that these other companies sold their units for over $700...well you can draw your own conclusions later on.

the thing is that OCZ doesnt make low end stuff

This is very true! I don't expect it to be the best, but I do expect that OCZ will make it a competitive product. This is good news for me as I don't like to OC too much, but this allows me to experiment at a much lower price. Anand says that OCZ wants to drop the price down around $200 when they start shipping in volume.

I hate to pop everybodys bubble but....

I see no mention any where on OCZ`s part of a price point.....hhmmmm
Also OCZ isn`t in the habit of giving away there equipment for no $$$$....

I really wouldn`t start drooling becuase I am sure you are probably looking at a very real $500 + in the price department.....

especially when there truthfully is a pecking order starting with air...then water....then.....

"While materials we've seen did not reveal pricing, they did state that the pricing of the phase-change unit will be economical, aiming it not just at the hardcore enthusiast, but at your broader enthusiast base also. This most likely includes those who would dabble in watercooling and beyond."---- lol

Tony from OCZ has personally said that they dont expect this system to be more than $400. So, where youre getting your assumptions is beyond me. Another thing said is this unit would be able to fit inside a Lian Li VM2XXX series case without having to remove the hard drive cage...

A refridgerator is a phase change device, right? You can buy a new fridge for well under $100, so $300 for the innards of a fridge isn't that far fetched.

The big problem with phase change devices is condensation. It won't be trivial to install one of these.

-10c is still low end for phase change. And lots of people spend $450 plus on water cooling, so this could still be a water cooling killer. What someone should really bring out is a $300 water chiller. That would rock.

Unless its perfectly silent, I doubt it would be a watercooling killer. Some are more concerned with noise than heat. Your right though, a cheap water chiller would be awesome.
