I am wondering if the on/off button on the evercase can go bad. My computer starts to boot and then shuts down completly. Not all the time but some of the time. I don't know if I have a short someplace, a bad off/on button... or what. When it shuts off it makes the same sound it does when I put it on. This is so frustrating because it is so intermittent and I can not figure out what it is.

Did you check to see if your power button is sticky and sometimes gets stuck on the side of the case? If the whole button doesn't pop up completely, it would turn off your comp almost immediately.

I'm not sure I completly understand what you mean. It seems to me that the button does not completly pop out. The button doesn't move that much... it seems like it is stuck in and moves a little bit.

That's what I mean. If your button doesn't pop completely out, your comp will turn off as soon as your bios recongize the power off signal. Just jiggle around with the button after depressing it and it should pop completely out.

A power button will not go bad on a computer case, just get sticky and dirty is all. All it does is make contact between two pieces of metal. You can start a computer with a screwdriver by touching the two pins on the motherboard.

I have a feeling that may be my problem. I haven't messed with it today... I just put the computer on and left it on. Maybe tomorrow I will try to fix it. I guess I could just attempt to clean it, that would sure be an easy solution to a frustrating problem.

Or it can be the way the case was built, like my last el cheapo case.
