There were a few calls that Schilling should have gotten and that certainly could have made a difference, but it's mainly the ankle. He didn't get a single pitch above 92, and even that he only did once or twice. Schilling, as we should all know by know, lives with a 96 mph fastball, and 88-90 just doesn't cut it. Hopefully, Pedro does well tomorrow and the Sox take 1 of 2. And we damned well better hope this ankle problem with Curt goes away... IMO without him we're not beating the Yankees.

Not blaming the umps, but I can think of two specific pitches, the low strike to ARod and an inside strike to I think Olerud, that really should have been strikes. That makes little difference though, as ARod was out anyway and Olerud's AB didn't matter.

Well, I mean, it wouldn't quite be the end, but it would definetly be a low blow when we're already down like this (no pun intended). You never know, though, Lowe may turn in a great outing. Ditto Wakefield, and I'm sure we'd see Pedro at some point in any case. The main concern I have right now is still Schilling :\.
