Is High-Val still in business? I thought they went under last year. I have a High-Val CD-ROM in my GF's computer, and it is ok. Not great, but ok. I might be wrong but I was under the impression that HV was either out of business or bankrupt, and stores were just selling off inventory. Can anyone concur, as this has a big impact should you need warranty service down the road.

Does anyone know whether the Iomega 12x10x32 cdrw is still a rebadged Plextor??

I bought one of these from CompUSA last December and flashed it to a Plextor and I have never had a problem with it and the Plextor Manager software is great(DiskDup in particular).

There are still a few rebadged Plextors floating around. You can always return it if it isn't one.

It's probablyl the same Lucent Winmodem chipset that everyone uses. For $5 you probably can't go too far wrong, *IF* there is not going to be a problem getting the rebate.
