The league has 10 people in it, we had 16 rounds, I selected from the #3 spot.

We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 DEF, 1 K.

QB's and RB's get 6pt for TD's. No points for receptions.

Projected Starters:

QB - Aaron Rodgers
RB #1 - Maurice Jones-Drew
RB #2 - Steven Jackson
WR #1 - Calvin Johnson
WR #2 - Terrell Owens
TE - Greg Olsen
K - Mason Crosby
DEF - Philadelphia Eagles

Backups
Kyle Orton
Jay Cutler
Ryan Grant
Chris "Beenie" Wells
Lance Moore
Kevin Walter
Kevin Boss
Brent Celek

Overall I'm very happy especially with my running backs. Thoughts?

Saw my first "How's my draft look" thread for the year? Making the official thread since the one from last year seemed to work well.

All Fantasy Football topics will be merged to this one.

Merged to "Official" thread.

As for the draft...that was an excellent team you picked. That would be something you'd typically see in a diluted 8 team league.

I thought so too. I don't want to speak too soon, but I was very surprised when certain players fell as far as they did. I was surprised that Jones-Drew fell to me at #3.

Why? You seriously expected anyone to take Jones-Drew over AP, or Turner?

I am not sure how you got Jackson in 2nd round, or Johnson and TO and Rodgers in the next few rounds, even with a 10 team league. I think you have a great team, but I do not expect anyone to have this team in a serious FF league where others are somewhat knowledgeable.

I truly think that Turner is going to have a crappy year. I am staying far, far away from him.

I think Frank Gore and Brandon Jacobs are going to have very good years. If the draft plays out right, I could even have a chance at getting both of them.

Yes, it's a more casual league than I typically do, so maybe the competition isn't what I am used to.

I thought Jones-Drew was a good pickup at #3 (not as good as Jackson at #18), but on my draft board I had Jones-Drew ranked at #2 behind AP. I probably would have gone Turner if I hadn't gotten Jones-Drew. My comment about running backs was more that in general I think they are very strong (even Grant as a backup isn't bad).

As for Turner, I think he'll have a generally good year, but the Falcons have added some additional weapons (namely a TE in Tony G.) and if Matt Ryan continues to progress they won't lean as heavy on the running game. They also have a pretty tough schedule.

Gore is another solid pick, but SanFran is pretty questionable in general. I think they'll face a lot of 7 and 8 man fronts due to a question-mark passing game. As for Jabcobs...well I'm an Eagles fan so I hope a meteor falls on his head

I'm going to have the 4th pick in a draft tonight (10 teams). I expect AP and MJD to definitely be gone. No idea who will go 3rd but how do you all feel about Slaton at 4? BTW we get .5 points per reception in this league as well. I so want to believe in LT but am a bit wary.

Any thoughts on this:

14-team league
QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/R, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN

Jay Cutler QB
Kyle Orton QB
Larry Fitzgerald WR
Anthony Gonzalez WR
Eddie Royal WR
Laveranues Coles WR
Frank Gore RB
Pierre Thomas RB
Ray Rice RB
Ahmad Bradshaw RB
Peyton Hillis RB
Visanthe Shiancoe TE
Chicago DEF
Adam Vinatieri PK (didn't even know about his surgeries/recovery , can always pick up someone else)

I'm a little worried about my QBs. Not a QB friendly league (4 pt TD, -2 for INT), but I couldn't figure out if that meant I did or did not need elite talent. As it turns out, QBs flew off the board fast and early, so I put together the duo above given the ebb and flow of the draft. I think they can chip in with ok numbers each week, but a 3 INT game will really hurt me (which I think might happen a few too many times). Really like my RBs and WRs. TE/DEF, I think are ok, but not great; there was a run on both in rounds way before I was ready to go there, so didn't get elite talent, but I think both will turn out pretty decent. And, of course, there's always the WW.

So how'd I do guys?

12th pick in a 13 man league
4/-2 for passing, QB, RB, RB/WR, WR, WR, TE, K, D/ST

I figured with 4/-2 wtf would I bother with a Tier1 QB. They started flying off the shelves R2/R3

Overall I'm pretty happy, esp @12th pick

QB: David Garrard
RB: Frank Gore
RB/WR: T.J. Houshmandzadeh
WR: Greg Jennings
WR: Roddy White
TE: Kellen Winslow
D/ST: Vikings
K: Nate Kaeding

BE:
Felix Jones, Earnest Graham, Mushin Muhammad, Steve Smith, Mark Bradley, Shaun Hill

I am in a casual yahoo league with 13 teams. The scoring I belive is the standard yahoo scoring. I dont know the players at all. My question is What postions should i fill my bench up with?

Starting- QB,WR,WR,WR,RB,RB,TE,K,DEF
BENCH- 6 SPOTS

I was thinking at least- QB,WR,WR,RB. Should I get a back up def? TE? If i don't pick up a 2nd TE,K, or DEF do you guys go without them for the week they have off? maybe I'll try for QB,WR,WR,WR,RB,TE?

I would draft a solid RB 1st round. Then load up on WR's. Since you have to start 3, you should spend round 2, 3, and 4 picking up good WR's. Unless you want a top tier QB (Think Brees, Brady, P. Manning, Rivers), I would wait until the 5th round to pick up a QB. There are lots of good ones still left around then (Matt Ryan, Carson Palmer, McNabb, etc).

I wouldn't pick up a backup D. Save that spot for a sleeper pick on your bench. That player might make or break your year. A DEF will never do that for you. I wouldnt pick up a backup kicker either. There are 32 teams in the NFL and only 13 teams in your league. You should be able to pick up a useable kicker for that one week your main kicker has their bye.

This was helpful as I'm new to fantasy and haven't had a chance to really learn what positions to draft when. I'm in an ultimate yahoo league, standard rules with 20 yards per point in passing yards instead of 25 and 6 points for passing touchdowns instead of 4.

QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/R, K, DEF, D, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN

I've been doing a lot of mock drafts to learn how to better pick in the mid to late stages of the draft and I'm getting better, but I'm trying to create a more solid idea of when you pick positions.

Here's my order that I think will be ideal so far, tell me if you think I'm off, please make suggestions.

R1: RB
R2: RB
R3: WR
R4: WR
R5: QB
R6: WR
R7: W/R (RB)
R8: BN (WR)
R9: TE
R8: BN (QB)
R10: DEF
R11: K
R12: D
R13: BN
R14: BN
R15 BN
R16: BN
R17: BN

I get really shaky at the end, not too sure what to do there. Feel like I need to make more responsible picks. Not sure if its good to go with two defenses or all extra WRs and RBs. Any help would be appreciated.

Our draft got screwed up. Commissioner clicked "Draft Ready" and it switched us from live draft to auto-draft, so I ended up with a strange team (QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, TE, K, 2 DB, 2 DL):

QB - Donovan McNabb
WR - Roddy White
WR - Terrell Owens
WR - Santana Moss
RB - DeAngelo Williams
RB - Clinton Portis
TE - Zach Miller
K - David Akers
DB - Leodis McKelvin
DB - Adrian Wilson
DL - Jonathan Lewis
DL - Red Bryant

BN - Darren McFadden
BN - Torry Holt
BN - Jeremy Shockey
BN - Trent Edwards
BN - Matt Bryant (a backup kicker?)

Made some changes:
QB - Donovan McNabb
WR - Roddy White
WR - Terrell Owens
WR - Santana Moss
RB - DeAngelo Williams
RB - Clinton Portis

DB - Josh Wilson
DB - Oshiomogho Atogwe
DL - Trent Cole
DL - Julius Peppers

BN - Darren McFadden
BN - Torry Holt

That would be a tough call, but yes. It would depend on my existing WR/RB situation in the league, though.
