5th shutout for Cliff this year. 15th shutout and 13th complete game for the Phils staff this year, both of which stats lead the bigs, even the AL where they don't have to ever pinch-hit for their pitcher.

Victorino, Whiteside and Ramirez (sic), the Giants relief pitcher who did the plunking, all ejected. He was throwing basically behind Victorino, it sure as hell looked intentional, but Shane should have just shrugged it off and taken his base.

Hope he doesn't have to serve a suspension, but given the current climate, it's almost a certainty.

Minor lulz: Howard ended up pinch running for Shane.

Phils win 9-2, are now 73-39. If they only play .500 ball the rest of the way, they will still win 98 games! :awe:

Vance is now 8-1. SF is a tough place to hit HR's, which is probably why the Phils only hit 5 the last two games.

Looked like a group hug. Baseball "brawls" are usually lame anyways outside of the occasional one where fists are actually flying like the Ryan beatdown of Ventura.

btw..the blue jersey's the Mets wore last night looked great. I'd love to see it replace the damn black unis. Angel Pagan needs to be dropped as well. He is not the solution for centerfield next season and beyond.

Hamels loses his shut out of the Giants to a Sandoval HR with 2 out in th 9th, still gets the complete game win, 2-1.

Phillies 9th straight win, 3rd straight over the Giants in their house. Phillies now 74-39, and Hamels is 13-6 with a 2.53 era.

It's the Phils 14 CG, 3 more than any TWO other NL teams have combined.

It's good to be a Phillies fan these days.

Apparently on MLB Network they are saying Vic got plunked b/c Rollins stole a base in the 6th inning while up by 6 runs, lol. Why is SF getting emo, they are the ones with the 2010 trophy.

Hunter Pence delivered again today. He's on fire and the Phils are undefeated (8 wins now) since he arrived. .382 BA, .647 SLG. Helluva pickup it would seem.

Cole Hamels, another complete game gem. Cushiest job in baseball = Philadelphia middle reliever.

CC got owned by the Sawx today. Jacoby Ellsbury now has 72 ribbies, jesus. Guy is on fire.

Kinda funny as it was a day after Chipper and Wright were jibber jabbering about the stadium dimensions. Chipper still wishes they played at Shea. lol They really should cut down that ludicrous "Great Wall of Flushing" on the left side by half.


As for the rest of baseball its too bad the Pirates figured out they're still the Pirates and have tanked. It would have been a super story if they made a run. The Giants have stunk since the Beltran trade and the Diamondbacks are right behind them.
