Amazin'ly lame decision by Terry Collins to take out Jose Reyes after he gets a leadoff hit when it could be his last day ever in a Mets uniform. Why should I fucking watch the rest of this game? Are you kidding me? Can't have the fans enjoy watching Reyes play for this one final game? All for a selfish reason (batting crown). boo!

Well they are saying that Braun has to go 3 for 4 to get the batting crown right? I guess Terry and Jose figure this is the best shot for the Mets to have their first batting champ.

I'm sure he does wants to stay and the fans want him to stay but as usual money talks. If a team who needs a shortstop (ie: Giants, maybe Red Sox..etc) shows off lots o' cash it would be hard for Jose to resist. We'll see of course.

The Reds looked dead but a nice job by the poet Miguel Batista and nice to see Queens boy Baxter with his first homer.


I'm can't wait for the games tonight to see who gets the wildcard spots. Yesterday was wacky with the Rays triple play, Boston player with his first homers, Fielder going homer crazy, Braves still tanking..etc.

Cardinals/Astros is the MLB.com free game of the day, by the way, for those interested in the wild card race. It's an hour later than the other three (8 EST), so the Cards will have a chance to clinch if the Braves lose.

Yea, just watched it on tv. Very emotional for him. I like Terry.

Not looking good at all for the Rays. Only 2 hits and 0 runs. The crowd is there, but the offense isn't.

Meanwhile, Lester has a quality start and some of the Sox (Pedroia, Ellsbury) are finally showing some fight. One stat that local radio has brought up is that the Sox have not won consecutive games in over a month. Finally being able to do that will get them the wild card.

What gets me is that if I was told at the start of the season that this reduced payroll team would still get 90 wins, I would have been tickled pink. So how come I feel like crap. :'(

Also, do the Red Sox break out the champagne tonight? Would you celebrate after the painful month they had? I guess a wild card is a wild card no matter how you get it.

There is no way they will call it. They'll wait until tomorrow if they have to but it will be finished
