A good point. For the person that asked me which is better...analog wise the X-purity should be...it uses AK4396(120dB) DAC's while the bluegears uses ones rated at 110db(no specifics listed. Also the op amps in the X-purity are user replaceable.

Worth buying this if I have an Audigy 2 ZS and mainly listen to MP3s (little to no gaming here)?

Oh, wow, FINALLY an affordable card with S/PDIF in. I wonder if they have Linux drivers for it.

well, it does have no resampling like creative and a normal digital out. Plus the equalizer is nice. I suppose it may be worth it.

It seems great. I mean the price is fine with 8788 and they have Linux driver, 32 and 64 bit and Vista will come out and ASIO and whatever. Dolby headphone is awesome too. I will get one and see if it works fine.

but, I find so many of them with the same design...

They were the distributor of the X-mystique before that duty was transferred over to Auzentech.

Nops...wrong information. Bluegears distributed HDA products. HDA, now Auzentech brought the distribution back in house.

HDA is HiTec Digital Audio, developed the X-Plosion 7.1 DTS Connect sound card, and its North American distributor is Auzentech. The previous sound card developed by HDA is the X-Mystique, which was previously distributed by Bluegears, and has been reviewed by nV News in the past.

Now, we start the next jump in HDA?s progression. HDA is now identified as AuzenTech. They have brought distribution back in house, setting up offices worldwide for support. AuzenTech Inc., the US branch office based in San Jose

ok....what point are you trying to make? Bluegears has a new product...I could care less if they are the distributor or manufacturer or just the advertising branch of some company.

This thread is not about Auzentech or HDA. It is about Bluegear's Enspirer. If you want to post a bunch of reviews of the X-Plosion, keep them in a different thread. That card has been discussed many times around here and is nothing new.

We also have a thread on the new X-Meridian if you would like to talk about Auzentech there.

Hey I see that this product is slightly cheaper than the new Auzentech X-Meridian...Do you think that this is as good as the competitor?

They are claiming the xmeridian is a custom design, and implying the bluegears card is the reference board. Despite the different layout, the only dramatic difference I notice immediately is the nifty optical/coax in/outs. And, it looks better.

IceT, where did you get a price on the xmeridian?

PurdueRy, sorry for further mixing these threads, but it was a fair question.

No problem, they are related

The X-Meridian cost $199.99 from Auzentech. What it will cost at Newegg and such has not been released yet. Through the trade in program(trade in X-Mystique or X-Plosion) you can get it for $149.99. If you ask me you would be better off trying to see the X-Plosion on ebay or the FS/FT forums. As for me, I will wait to see what the price does as I can't afford a $200 card and am happy with my X-Plosion.

The analog capabilities of the X-Meridian are much better than those of the b-enspirer. Also, it will have a front panel audio connector on board.

Hey there is a review on the Bluegears b-Enspirer. Virtual-Hideout net
"If you are considering a new sound card solution and have the opportunity to sample this sound card, you won't be disappointed. The Enspirer could perhaps be the perfect 7.1 channel upgrade, especially if you want to save money."

I could use a hand with by b-enspirer. I'm trying to use the Optical In with my X-box 360, but there is no sound. I cant find any option within the soundcard to enable Optical In, and I'm 99% sure my Xbox is not the problem.

Anyone have one of these with any clue?
Thanks.
