wow, I thought I did pretty well when I had 5 medals or so. You were playing recon? I've played mostly recon so far and never touched that kind of score. What's your strategy?

I don't have a set strategy. I get in the game, and do what feels right. Yes, that was with the recon class. At the beginning, I tend to stay back, see what is going to happen or how the other team approaches. Usually get killed mostly in the beginning five minutes. Then I start to snipe, use my pistol, and knife. I REALLY used my pistol in those two games, and it payed off. For most of the two I was using the MP443, but I started using the six shooter near the end of the second when I unlocked it. I also unlocked the M95 that second game, and the first clip I used I got 4 headshots and 1 instant kill body shot from a guy who tried to run up on me. To reference, each clip is only 5 shots. So, I use the 4x scope on either the M95 or S-98, and the "scope" upgrade (lets friendlies see people you spot), and I just run around like a mad man sometimes. I'll run up, plant an objective, run around it defending it, die, they'll defuse, and I'll do it over again. About three times I ran into rooms full of 3-5 enemies and knifed the shit out of every one of them because they either couldn't see me or couldn't see my name because of the FoV and everybody else in the room. I can either be rambo, or I can be a ninja...it just depends on how I think the game outcome will be.

Aw man, I was hoping for a round uploaded in it's entirety.

Believe me, I would if I could.

so far so good...

what the best way to get helis down?

Tracer dart + rocket launcher.

You know I would really like to get this game but the Demo was just SO BAD IMHO. Maybe am a dumb MW2 junkie but this game looks much more complicated to me and thus perhaps not as "fun".

What I really like is the team aspect of the game. This game will be key to having a good team and working for a common objective. Not 100% necessary in MW2 but it does help.

What I hate -- why is with all the cursing. Holy moly the f-bomb is dropped like every 2 seconds in all the online vids I have watched. I know the game is going for realism but I would never be able to play this game with my kids at home.

Anyway I am torn between getting and giving it my best shot or just skipping it all together.

Well at least you admit it...:sneaky:
The game isn't complicated- it is point and shoot. There are objectives- Alpha and Bravo- that you are trying to blow up or defend in rush. In conquest, you are playing "capture the point" basically. Otherwise it's just deathmatch/team deathmatch I think. There are specific kits and classes- Assault, engineer, recon, and medic. Medic is the backbone of taking care of the team, recon is the "sniper" and general scout, engineer is the vehicle guy and anti-vehicle guy, and assault is on the front lines (this is how I see it, not how people play the classes). An even balance of all gets the game done.
You will only win a game by team. Whether it's only four of you working together or the whole team, you won't survive if everyone does something different. I can go and plant and defend by myself, but I'll usually die pretty quickly after I plant if there are not others to help. That said, many players don't play as I do either, so it's even harder for them.

The f-bomb isn't that bad. Granted, in the story, they use language freely, but it's war- it's FUCKING war (), and I'm not going to control my language in it. Online, they'll shout things like "fucking retard" if you hit a teammate or something, but it isn't bad and isn't that often as far as I'm concerned. If you're worried about your kids, you shouldn't be playing war games anyways, much less MW2 where you massacre citizens in an airport....

I've been having a blast in the single player so far. Playing it on hard and it isn't really hard but it's difficult enough to keep it fun.
I've played about 2-3 hours of the multiplayer and I will say that the demo did not do this game justice at all. In fact I think it may have hurt it a bit as I was a huge BF:BC 1 fan and I almost didn't get this second game.
The teamwork in the game is amazing but i've yet to get in a squad that was being very effective as a team.

Heres my take so far, Ive had it since release.

Singleplayer - Less trash talk on MW2 and more effort in the game. There are a few spots where you have to be DEAD ON with doing something. Such as using a grenade launcher to shoot down a heli which only works in that part of the game... Along with the shitty checkpoints, and stupid AI squad it's decent. I think MW2's single player was better IMO... Forgot to add this. You could be hiding behind a building and your squad out in the open and the enemy AI will STILL try and kill you first. Poor AI programming....

Multiplayer - Don't know how many times Ive logged in and 0 games found. So haven't had much time to play online at all.

will update you once I play more.

Well hey don't sugar coat it, call me dumbe, call me a noob, call me a bad parent call me whatever. Geeze if I wanted a lecture I would have asked for it. I was commenting on the game only.

For your information I NEVER play any game such as MW2 or Batman or anything else like that when my kids are around. My comments about the language are because I play my games at night after the kids are upstairs in bed. Well my TV is still in earshot of the kids so yes all the foul language concerns me. Otherwise they never see/hear anything I play. Please don't tell me what I should and shouldn't do around my kids.

Now that I have gotten those comments off my chest I will turn everything else back to the game and ignore any other personal jabs.

My understanding is that the EA servers have been down since this morning and have been hit or miss all week. That's why you are seeing 0 games.

And that's probably why a lot of MW2 people won't like it. They like to just camp and wait to get the next kill streak unlock and don't like to use teamwork.

Or maybe it's just the bad mechanics I'm biased about.

What I hate -- why is with all the cursing. Holy moly the f-bomb is dropped like every 2 seconds in all the online vids I have watched. I know the game is going for realism but I would never be able to play this game with my kids at home.

I'm completely with you Greg. While I don't have kids I do have a wife and personally I don't like hearing profanity every 2 seconds either. It doesn't really add anything to the game.

The one thing I will give EPIC is this, how difficult is it to add a language filter? On GoW 2 you flip one setting and all the profanity is removed (subtitles and spoken). They don't have to record new sound, they just cut the sounds off for it.

One thought, have you considered picking up a pair of solid headphones? A guy I know bought a pair of Turtle Beach surround sound headphones (weren't terribly expensive) for the 360 and they work fantastically (I tried 'em out last night). Built in mic as well. Methinks he bought 'em on monoprice.

Sounds good because like you and GCS I didn't like the demo AT ALL (I played less than 1 game before getting bored). I watched the IGN Review and what I saw did look smoother/more refined than the demo did.

I kind of agree with the point about the language. I don't care at all personally but it is so ridiculous.

I'm sure it's lost them sales.

For instance. My dad and brothers all play MW2 together. I switched to BFBC2 because I've always liked the Battlefield games better...more teamwork and strategy.

My dad and 1 of my brothers won't be getting it because of the language.

I only play games at night when my wife and kid goes to bed so it doesn't really affect me but it seems pretty unnecessary and a pretty bad business decision. Seems like they could easily include a language filter.

If it's that bad I'll probably sell it off in a few days whether I like the gameplay or not...it's not worth constantly getting the wife's evil eye.

As stated my comments in this thread will be about the game not your personal attacks. I would appreciate the same from you.

I'll have to look into the headphones. I have thought about this before but my only reasoning for not doing this is if the kids called out for something/had a problem I would never know, hence my fear of doing headphones. My kids are both old enough to come get me if there was something really wrong but the Dad in me would still be a little worried about it.

I totally understand. Hrm...they may be old enough to come get you but if you still want that extra security you could always get a 1 way child monitor for their room, put the receiver near you and with the volume high enough even with the headphones you should hear it.

Oh we still have the old monitors from when they were babies. It's just a subconscious Dad thing ya know. Even though my kids are 7 & 10 and know better we still make them hold our hand while we are walking through parking lots and such.

I'll probably wait til BC2 comes down in price or try to rent it for a bit. Somehow I think I will love the team aspect of the game (as you know this is the part I like about our MW2 nights -- when we work as a team) but not sure about the rest of the "mechanics". Who knows.

Well, with the $20 Amazon credit methinks you'll be hard pressed to find a deal that good for a while.

*edit* NVM, deal is dead

Well I got impatient and picked up the 360 version (already have the PC version). MAN they were busy between the demo and the final release: this game is TIGHT. It doesn't look nearly as good as the PC version (obviously) or even MW2 (the selling of which helped fund my purchase), but the fun factor more than makes up for it.

Oh, so here's the question...which do you prefer now and why?
