KillCam Off - I have no problems with this, because if I get sniped I like to know from where. Plus it gives me something else to stare at other than the respawn timer. Doesn't move fast enough.

What's wrong with me asking for something optional? Including the ability to disable it or bypass it wouldn't affect you at all. Let me at least press 'A' to skip it. You don't have to press 'A'. We're both happy.

How about some spawn protection? - NOOOOOOOO. Killzone suffered from this early on. Don't need one person rushing in on an objective and the rest of the squad spawning in at the same time knowing they have 1.5 secs of invincilbity and using that to own all the defenders. NO THANK YOU. Perfect how it is.

Six of one and half dozen of the other. Personally, I'd sacrifice this to be able to take two steps without getting killed. It's supposed to have 1.5 seconds of invincibility (documented); I just want it to work. Bumping it 0.5 seconds isn't going to "ruin the game" as you describe. Agree to disagree I suppose.

SQUAD SELECTION - Agreed. Though its not really that much of a big deal cause I am not afraid to cuss out the rest of the squad for sitting in the back doing nothing. Get a Mic and watch ppl listen to you. just be nice and reasonable with your cussing

Cussing out your squad still doesn't fix your situation, though. You're still in a shitty squad. Furthermore, they probably don't hear your cussing in the first place because no one uses mic's in this game.

There is substantial respawn lag - Never noticed. Call your ISP to increase your upload/download rates

LOL seriously? Come on, it's 2010... I think we can skip rudimentary suggestions like this. If I had lag, I'd have far more to complain about than the respawn delay. I have a gargantuan pipe that I could upload your mother through if I so desired. My up/down is quite sufficient

The lag isn't necessarily network lag. It could be that they programmed it such that there's still one more second (or two, who knows) on the timer after it reads Ready.

Red dot sites OWNS

No, they are too obstructive and the dot itself is too large. They offer very little advantage over the iron sights.

I wasn't spotting on recon class, I was spotting with the assault class and getting points for it.

.

See this is why lobby chat is a big no no for me. How did my mother get into this? Seriously. Rudimentary suggestion or not, it is rudimentary suggestions that still solves alot of computer problems in 2010, it is the rudimentary suggestions that pisses you off anytime one of your family members have computer problems. Why do you get defensive over a suggestion that really doesn't pertain to YOU as a person.

I am not insulting your intelligence, cause who knows maybe my rudimentary suggestion may ignite some deep down idea in your "infinite wisdom". If it was wrong then it was wrong but surely not cause my mother can fit down your bandwidth pipe lol. Instead of blaming it on programming maybe it could be something else like say you being impatient (or is that rudimentary also). Damn you for making me go there.

It made me chuckle.

Because this is Anandtech. If you're here, you have at least basic grasp of bandwidth. It's akin to being on a car forum because you can't seem to get your vehicle to start and someone suggests turning the ignition. Or better yet, "I can't get my game to start." "Did you try turning on your console?" Same idea.

Instead of blaming it on programming maybe it could be something else like say you being impatient (or is that rudimentary also).

Impatience is not a cause. It might make the symptom more frustrating, but it is not a cause. But yes, I am impatient: when the timer ticks down to zero, I want back in the game. I don't want to stare at "Ready" for another 2 seconds. If it's going to take 12 seconds to get back in the game, then start the timer at 12 instead of 10

It's all about teamwork. Last night I got on with 3 other friends and we absolutely dominated. We were in one server for like.... 5 or 6 hours straight. I was only planning on playing for like an hour, haha!

We literally didn't lose a single game. Probably had 25+ wins in a row. We got the Gold Squad pin every single game, and always lead.

This game is so much fun with teamwork.

That's really what makes the game so good. One person absolutely cannot carry a team. On the other hand, one coordinated squad can DOMINATE.

The flip side is that it can be really frustrating if you can only get into games where everyone is doing their own thing (which usually means 23 snipers).

I got into a few games this weekend that my whole team was sniping. What a nightmare.

Overall though I think I've been pretty lucky to get into some really decent games. Medic and Engineer are probably my 2 favorite classes now. I love tracing and shooting down choppers and watching the bodies fly.

Oh yeah, favorite weapon in the game = mounted Heavy Machine Guns. On the map where the assault team has to start off by taking the small island on defense I hopped on a HMG and literally just sat there and racked up kills. Not an armored HMG either.

Tired of those 'hats who confuse the Recon class for a Sniper class?

The Sniper Cop

I somehow feel like this is linked to me calling 'em snipers earlier :hmm:

Funny nonetheless.

Of those I've used I like the XM8 the most for Assault, M60 the most for Medic, and probably AK-74U for Engineer. I don't really use the sniper rifles so I can't comment on their efficency. I look forward to the M468 and M16 though.

Not at all... was just reading the official BC2 boards and I came across that. Thought it was hilarious. I've definitely added this to my repertoire

You picked it up blowfish?

Yep. I picked it up right when you left. I have a decent amount of time in it. No MP though.

It has truly F'ED my MW2 mojo though as I went back to MW2 some this w/e and damn I did absolutely horrible. Not only that but every time I wanted to melee or crouch I would hit the wrong button.

I like to look at the leaderboards first. If they are legit carrying their weight I won't do it, if they're mid to low, I put it right between the eyes.

There are quite a few of 'em but there's more of everything else than snipers.

I'm starting to think that having either 1 or 2 snipers to a team is the "right amount".

Last night we were playing the Rush map where you advance from island to island as the attacking team. We had like 5 or 6 snipers, and it was SO pointless. They would occasionally get kills, but they are all the way on the other island so it's not like they are actually pushing at all. A single sniper would have been able to pick off guys on turrets, etc, leaving the rest of the team for objective completion.

I agree to an extent. If the defense has a lot of snipers, you might need 3 or 4 to keep them in check. The main job of the attackers' snipers should be two-fold: occupy/distract the defensive snipers and keep the defensive emplacements unmanned. Mortaring objectives should also be a priority.

Defensively, I just don't see any point in having more than 2 (like you said), regardless of how many snipers there are on offense. If the attackers have 6 snipers, then who cares: they're sniping, not attacking (and that's good!). The main job of defensive snipers should be spotting and calling strikes at high traffic areas. If they can pick off a couple attackers, then that's gravy.

The most important thing the Recon class can do, as the name suggests, is obtaining information about the enemy from safe distances - primarily through tagging them. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that tagging an enemy is often more useful than simply shooting them. - particularly when the Recon is also acting as a valuable spawn point for squad mates and doesn't want to give up their location.

If you're assaulting and you know the exact location of every defending enemy, you are far more effective and that in turn brings up everyone else.

I tried that sniping cop shit but it didn't seem to do anything and I was getting pissed off that round anyways. I've never seen such displays of retardation in this game: not retardation possibly, but look out for people and not just yourself for fuck's sake.
