Why is it the scarecrow that kills his parents? Joker killed them... :S can someone give me a breakdown on wtf is going with this movie?

who said anything about the scarecrow killing his parents?

Joker didnt kill his parents, that was only in the first Batman movie.
the killer in Batman Begins stays true to the comics.

thats funny, all the comic I've ever read show the joker as the one who killed his parents.

who killed his parents in your books, and what books were they?

I'm mostly a Marvel fan, but I've read plenty pf DC, and yes I know story lines get changed alot as the years go by, but I really never heard of anyone else being the killer.

saw it opening day at the IMAX at Universal Studios Citywalk and i loved it! I thouht the movie was good, choice of badguys were suprising though timeline was way off, and overall actos were good though i thought Katie Holmes didn't belong anywhere near this movie but her role was small thank god
I LOVED IT!!!

better than the versions with George CLooney anyday!

The Joker killing Bruces parents appeared in the Tum Burton version of Batman ONLY. NO WHERE ELSE.

Here's a link that explains.

What you are reading are movie adaptations. The Joker did not kill Bruce Wayne's parents (as stated by others). The only time the Joker killed Wayne's parents was when Jack Nicholson played him in the movie.

Here is a link from DC Comics...read the summary which details Joe Chill as the murderer of Wayne's parents.

Here is another link from IMDB...scroll to the bottom.

Holy crap I just saw it tonight - I am very impressed by it. It was dark, moody, intense, everything the Batman movies should be. Not this overhyped, stylish, flashy James Bond type sh!t the previous 3 movies have been.

I stand corrected.

i was reading superman/batman #16 and had to re-read it. it showed batman going back in time and saving his parents from the gun man(who for some reason i thought was the Joker). but after re-reading it i realized i was wrong about the identity.

Told you I was more a Marvel Fan than DC

Good movie although I thought it was kind wierd how the microwave emitter didn't vaporize living organisms. Also why were the people on the island walking towards batman zombie style? Wouldn't they be freaked out and running away? And why wouldn't they be fighting each other instead of focusing on batman? i check a few pages back and did'nt find this discussed. sorry if its a repost

Because people attack what they fear. And um, it would pretty much blow the movie if that device would blow up humans

" British actor Paul Bettany has joined the race to play Batman's nemesis The Joker in a planned sequel to Batman Begins. Director Christopher Nolan left no doubt The Joker would feature heavily in the next Batman installment when the villain, formerly played by Jack Nicholson, left a calling card in the final scene of the box office smash hit. And now Batman fansites are desperately trying to make sure producers pick the right man for the job. Crispin Glover was an early favorite, along with Star Wars' Mark Hamill, who provides the voice of The Joker in the Batman animated series and Aussie actor Lachy Hulme, and now Bettany has got the fans' vote. An insider tells website Batman-on-film.Com that the A Beautiful Mind star is officially in the running to play the evil character."

...take it with a grain of salt though. But personally, I think Bettany would be great for the role!

Hmm...yes! I too think he would be good as the Joker. I like his acting..

I finally went to see this...wow i was impressed!

I really didn't expect alot, but i'd have to say this was the best movie i've seen this year.

I am gonna have to watch The Machinist now to see some more Christian Bale acting, since he seemed awesome in Batman Begins.

Christian Bale as Batman was every bit as good as Michael Keaton - both worked very well with their respective directors' visions.

We'll see who plays the Joker in the (hopefully forthcoming) sequel. Jack Nicholson as the Joker in the first Batman was easily one of the best-cast roles, ever.

1: Bats can't break through windows.
2: Why would bats fly into windows? They emit ultrasonic waves to light their path, so to speak, and AFAIK glass reflects ultrasound.
3: That emitter Batman used to attract the bats should have emitted ultrasound, which we can't hear. But there was a high-pitched humming.
4: How strong would the emitter have to be to attract the bats from all the way to their roost (proper word?)? It certainly wouldn't be that small.
5: The microwave emitter didn't have any horn that I could see, so how were the microwaves focused?
6: A microwave emitter strong enough to vaporise water inside pipes would have to have a gigantic power source. Where was the power source?
7: Anybody that got in the way of the microwaves would instantly explode. What the hell were people doing walking around it?
8: How would the entire water supply system blow if the microwave emitter got to the Wayne Tower?
9: The Tumbler should have fallen through the roof of the building it landed on (the one with the clay shingles, I think).
10: Actors should stop saying "I have got to get me one of these".
11: Fight-scene camerawork looked like it came off the set of Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

Let's assume it was omni-directional

6: A microwave emitter strong enough to vaporise water inside pipes would have to have a gigantic power source. Where was the power source?

Ehh... fusion? Better yet, who cares

7: Anybody that got in the way of the microwaves would instantly explode. What the hell

That would make for a messy Batman Movie. But yeah, big hole there.

Your answer for 7 contradicts your answer for 5.

5: It'd be impossible to extract energy from a fusion reaction contained in something so small using today's technology, and it does seem that the movie was set in current times.
