Best Movie of the Summer (so far ;0) .

Only thing things that bugged me: (MINOR SPOILERS BELOW)

1)How did they cure the city?
2)Whose idea was it to put Arkam right next to a major populated area
3)Isn't Rash Al Goul Middle Eastern?
4)No Danny Elfman theme.

in the previous batmans was the cape the same thing (used as a gliding thing) as it was in this one or was the cape just for looks?

In Batman, bruce was always afraid of flying so he never used it there, it was more of protection - from fire and to symbolize the wings of a bat.

In Batman Returns, he finally used it to glide, I guess he got over his fear. But only once or twice in the movie.

I think that was it for the previous movies.

The original Batman was a great, great movie. But I'm definitely a fan of Nolan's depiction of the caped crusader.

Things I liked:
More realistic fight scenes...Bale does martial arts better than Keaton, and he engages his foes in a real life manner...looks less staged.

Far better Batmobile...the Tumbler honestly makes all the other Batmobiles look like toys...more function and less form.

Things to be improved:
Needs a bad ass villian...Raz Alghoul (sp?) was a half-hearted villian, and the Scarecrow was more like a low-level henchman...Carmine Falconi was more of a prop for the storyline than a main villian.

It wasn't the whole city, and it was mostly corrupt cops and criminals who were already in the asylum. And people along the rail. Gordon had a second vial that was to be used for mass production. I'm sure in a day or so they could produce a decent amount.

I kind of agree with roger ebert on this subject... I think it was a good idea to let Batman be in the forefront and not have overly flamboyant characters steal the show. It's always more interesting to me to see how Batman does his "detective" work (double meaning there for those who are in the know).

Ra's Al Ghul is pretty bad ass. He's been alive for centuries and most likely will be regenerated in the lazarus pit that has sustained his life this long. I really doubt that they are meaning for him to be dead. Remember the important rule of thumb in movies... if you don't see the body zipped up in a body bag, the guy is still alive.

I got to play with the RC Tumbler in the office the other day, pretty badass.

instead of peter telling MJ they cant be togeather

it seems like there were several other scenes that were influnced by the spiderman movies

Very dissappointed

The acting was great (Bale is always great ), Mood was right...

Whoever did the editing did a horrible job. The movie was not smooth at all... it seemed like they were done by some college student.

I am sick and tired of movies rehasing the old ideas.. Remakes, prequals.... I saw the preview before batman begins started and they were ALL remakes or new version of the old ideas.

Meh.. and i got raped at $10 per ticket and my girl fell in love with Bale's body.. double punch

Hehe, I "only" paid $8 a ticket for me and my dad.

As far as the editing, I agree. There was just too much jumping back and forth between him as a kid, then back to him fighting bad guys in Asia, back to present day, back to him going to Chill's hearing, back to present day, back to him as a kid, back to him kicking Asian ass. Sheeesh. And the transitions weren't really that smooth either.

I paid $6 (w/ student discount, still have my college ID even though I graduated in May )

And just so you don't get worried, every girl in the theater I watched at, fell in love with Bale's body... motherfvcker is hugeeeeee!!!! Jeezus his arms were twice as big as mine...

Well, I agree with you that it is near impossible to find a Joker as good as Jack the Wack but I don't know... old Batman movies never really did it for me... oh well Its got above 8/10 on IMDB too Too bad haters will give it a 1 even before seeing it...

By the way NFS4, I think Johnny Depp would make a pretty good Joker even though it won't be as creepy as Jack the Wacko... still though, just imagine him laughing like he does in Willy Wonka trailer

Well, I agree with you that it is near impossible to find a Joker as good as Jack the Wack but I don't know... old Batman movies never really did it for me... oh well Its got above 8/10 on IMDB too Too bad haters will give it a 1 even before seeing it...

The more I've seen of the joker in other batman versions, the more I think that we praise Jack too highly. To use strictly Kubrick movies as an analogy, Jack was too shining and not enough Clockwork Orange. He did a good job of portraying a tim burton villan who resembled the joker, but his energy and giddyness were not quite spot on. I think it will be hard to find a better joker only because portraying the role accurately without seeming cheesy is quite difficult.

I thought his portrayel of The Joker was perfect (although I don't have a reference point). Put another way, his performance was brilliant. Him dancing around singing, then turning around and electrocuting someone to death in the same breath. Him dancing around in the art gallery still puts me in stitches as does:

"Bob...gun"

Scarecrow / Dr. Crane pointed out that he gave her a concentrated dose.
The rest of Gotham had a regular intake.

In terms of the Tumbler and Wayne Inc., you have to assume that Lucious obviously knows, which is about right cause he's one of the few people that knows Batman's real identity. Remember that in his dept, everything was buried and no one knew about anything going on there.
