I loved the movie. I really enjoyed it, and it was like a more "realistic" view of batman. I loved the tumbler!!! a ton lot more practical than the older batmobiles. I love the focus on batman, and his origins, training as a ninja, etc. NINJA!! c'mon!!!! batman is really a ninja. I never thought about it, but it all makes sense now.

I really really do hope they follow up on this. This movie was A+ BAD ASS! (for lack of a better phrase ).

Yes, the editing could've been better, but still, overall, the movie was THE AWESOMENESS OF THE SUMMER!

My wife and I both really liked the movie. I had nothing to complain about, not even the editing of the fight scenes. I think the fight scenes were edited like that to add to the "wtf is that" response the bad guys had to being attacked.

That kept it from degenerating into another "hey, let's have some super-choreographed fight scenes, Woo style" ripoff. Part of the point to him being Batman is that you don't see him coming, and aren't sure what happened even after your ass has already been kicked.

Whoever did the editing did a horrible job. The movie was not smooth at all... it seemed like they were done by some college student.

I am sick and tired of movies rehasing the old ideas.. Remakes, prequals.... I saw the preview before batman begins started and they were ALL remakes or new version of the old ideas.

Meh.. and i got raped at $10 per ticket and my girl fell in love with Bale's body.. double punch

You do realize this movie is based on Batman: Year one the comic book rite?

That being said, I thought this movie was decent but left me wanting mostly. It just didn't "click" with me the way the original did when I saw it at age 9. This one seemed sorta meh and the fast cutting fight scenes were enough to drive my batty. Bale had the whole cocky, I'm mad at the world attitude going on, but he just can't top Keaton.

And the baddies in this movie? Puhlease. They can't even come close to touching Jack in the original.

But by far, the WORST offense in the whole movie was when he first said "I'm Batman!" It was so horrible I wanted to puke my brains out.

That being said, I still like Batman and Batman Returns way better than this new flick

I gotta agree here. I went to a midnight showing, and after seeing the film trying to be as unbiased as I could, I just didn't love it like the original 1989 Batman.

I gotta say that Bale is a pretty damn good Bruce Wayne, but when he was dressed as Batman, there was something about him that didn't click. I think Keaton potrays a better Batman.

I hated the fight scenes. The camera was too damn close, so instead of me saying wow, I was more like what just happened. I was just really disappointed in the potential those fight scenes could have had if it was filmed a litter better.

In any case, it was okay, but it will never touch the original Batman movie.

Holy crap! All these compliments don't do the movie justice; the introduction of the ferocity of Batman was stunning! This movie simply knocked me on my ass, A+!

Batman doesn't kill people if he can help it, and he only fights at night. I fixed your post.

At the docks, you dont see how the first guy disappears and you never really see Batman fighting, just a bunch of guys dropping. I loved how they did that...how he's like this scary creature who can engage so many guys at one time.

Random question, when katie holmes was in the batmobile all drugged up, how come she didnt freak out looking at Batman? Also, the little kid didnt freak out when Batman showed up to save him and Rachel.

Rachel knows about Batman, and so does the kid. Remember that the kid is a fan of batman and Batman even gave him a item to show to his friends to prove Batman was real. The kid trusts him.

movie was great. bale did a very good job, best he could possibly do. but i must admit his batman voice seemed a little faked, I dunno Keaton's voice was just naturally Batman if you will. Overall this movie kicks ass, does a great job explaining the past and the whole legend of Batman. I'd recommned it wholeheartedly.

I saw it yesturday (thursday) and to be honest I didn't care for it all that much. Sure it was good, but not quite as good as I was expecting. The scarecrow is a weak character IMO and dragged the movie down with him.

I saw it last night and was very impressed. This was a much more character-driven approach to the Batman story, and I appreciated the new perspective. The acting was great, and the characters (well, Bruce Wayne and his parents mainly) were much more well-developed than in previous Batman movies.

Don't watch this movie expecting something along the lines of Burton's Batman. That movie was much more about recreating the fast-paced plot of a comic book using the film medium and establishing the atmosphere and mood of the comic. It was absolutely revolutionary at the time and has served as the model for all super hero movies that followed it. Batman Begins gives us a much deeper look into Batman / Bruce Wayne and the motivations behind his actions. The criminal scheme is secondary to the characters that play into it.

I still enjoyed Burton's Batman more overall, although my fiancee liked this one better. Nonetheless, highly recommended. Don't hesitate to check it out.

Yeah, his voice was VERY forced as Batman. Like he was trying to go way down in his stomach and belt out a menacing voice.

Keaton just did it naturally.

I can't believe you people are bitching about Bale's Batman voice. I thought it was perfect. For a start, Wayne would have to disguise his voice. Ever since my childhood I've imagined Batman to have a deep, gravely voice. Second, in Burton's film, Keaton barely spoke above a whisper. In this film Bale screams at villians, which adds to the intensity of the character.

I'm a huge Batman fan and have been since I was a toddler. I collected the comics for about six years. I thought the film was the most accurate representation of Batman to date and the single most entertaining film I've ever seen.

So was it more entertaining than Star Wars 3 or not?

Considering that I disliked star wars 3, it's a no brainer. But, I must say, it is surprising how many idiots will show up 10 minutes after a movie starts on opening night and then seem surprised that there are no seats. I also enjoy it when groups of 10 come during the previews and do the same.

Wow, when I went there were like 20 people at the theater at most. But I went to see a 9:30 PM show. I thought it was going to be more packed.

Really? I went to the 9:10pm showing in Orlando and it sold out.

Movie got a standing O btw

It's funny that I see quite a few people saying things along the lines of "it was okay, but something just didn't click... I prefer the original 1989 movie".

I and the group of friends who went to see the original movie (17-19 yr olds at the time) had some of the same feelings about it. The specific complaints that at least some of us had at the time (not all of these are things I didn't like, but someone from our group mentioned it) were that Keaton seemed forced as Batman (or his batman voice did), didn't like the fights (too obviously choreographed or slow), some moments that were too cheesy (like the batplane being framed against the moon to make the bat symbol), Joker was too over-the-top, etc.

It seems like a chocolate vs. vanilla, black coffee vs. sugar & cream arguement. Some expect more fun, some expect more darkness, and so they see different strengths & weaknesses in both fimls.

I'm just glad that although I think I prefer this new version more, now I have at least two good Batman movies to watch.

I saw it last night and loved it, best Batman movie so far, though I only consider the first one any good anyways.

Just like any movie there were its weaker parts, but all in all it was a very fun and entertaining movie to watch, and some of the scenes just made you go "whoa!".

I went to the 10:10PM showing and it was sold out, and everyone did the clapping thing after it finished.

You people should watch the 1989 Batman again. While it's good, it is hella cheesy to the core.

The new Batman removes the cheese and adds a lot more believable elements to the Batman story. Batman was never a superhero. He has no superpowers.

I've always liked Ra's Al Ghul as a villian. He's not your typical evil, diabolical maniac. He's an extremist with almost the same goal as Batman. His methods, though, are questionable. He's akin to Magneto from the X-men. I could always imagine Ra's Al Ghul working in the background in all of Bruce Wayne's life. The movie did allude to Ra's Al Ghul knowing Bruce's parents.
