Diablo 3 is a game for children and morons. Playing the free starter edition bored me to death. I was a big fan of D1 and less of a fan of D2, but D3 is just totally crap. Controls are funky, no customization, graphics suck, gameplay sucks, abilities suck, voiceovers suck, and the game is short, repetitive, and boring. Path of Exile is a much better game, and free. Torchlight 2 is probably an even better game than PoE but for the cartoonish graphics. That people actually defend Diablo III makes it pretty clear why the world is so screwed up: these people actually have the right to VOTE.

Oh I forgot to mention this game is so poorly balanced that even when i went completely naked and TRIED to kill myself as a wizard in a party with three other people on the skeleton king, it took his entirely health bar before he managed to finally killed me. It is extremely difficult to even kill yourself when you want to early on. Then later on Inferno becomes impossible for melee classes but not for ranged. Lol.

Because I have an opinion I wish to share, and I wish to spread the truth that Blizzard put out a terrible game that nobody should buy. Get a life troll.

This 8 hour "scheduled" maintenance is pure BS. If it was scheduled, maybe they could have told us about it a day ahead of time?

Overall, fun game when it's working. Not too pleased with the ping times though, seems like at best I see around 220 ms ping, from the east coast. Are all the servers in California or something? That little bit of lag can really mess me up sometimes. I'm playing a demon hunter, and trying to vault twice in a row it seems like about 1/3 of the time it bugs out and just makes me vault right back to where I was instead of moving me the direction I was trying to go.

Level 59... I was planning to hit 60 this morning but blizzard's surprise scheduled maintenance got in the way.

D3 is your typical Diablo game ie hack and slash which are all bit boring in the end and repetitive,however saying that voice over was ok and only negative thing I can find is they have dumbed down the skill system from previous Diablo games which is not surprising since how many other games have gone the same way.

I don't know what more you expect from Diablo games because in the end the gameplay is simple,you only have to look at Diablo/D2 to see what I mean.


I knew the game would be a bit hyped up ,but for me it was what I expected ie average game that is good enough to keep me going until the end.
Btw graphics are ok in my books,not the best but far from the worst I've seen.

One thing that really annoys me is maintenance windows that are this long. Maybe I just know too much, but with virtualization and such technologies, shouldn't outage windows be in the minutes (if any) instead of hours?

Yes, it should be. Apparently blizzard is either lacking in knowledge of how cloud computing can work, or they are too cheap to use it.

im level 53 already and i like this game , in the past 10 years i have finished 3 games only , and this is the 4th ... Im hooked to it...

Ibex, I mean makeitrain, has judged me a fool, whatever will I do? Other than try to hit Lv 40 tonight. And vote in the upcoming election.

Anywho I played about the last 1/4 of Act NM with Joph, Merad, and Quantum last night but had to head out early. Was fun. The wife's got to work tonight though so a lot of demons are gonna die.

While it is needed, it shouldn't be as long (one would think). I'm sure the auction house needs attention weekly, but maybe an hr?

Either way, I was wondering if it would share the downtime with WoW. Guess it is confirmed

Disclaimer: I haven't played D3 yet, but will eventually get it.

It doesn't look like the skill system is too dumbed down - D1 had no skill system at all. D2's skill system was okay, but the various patches always messed up characters by changing the skill balance. At times, D2's skill system was a little too-micromanage-y, having to decide early on what skills you wanted 20-40 levels later.

Though, I did have fun with an inferno/orb sorc (and practically beat all of single-player with a firewall/orb sorc sometime last year).

They definitely aren't the same servers, but possibly the same data access point? Don't know.

I would hope they aren't always related.

really, give the new skill system a chance... IS NOT BAD, its just different

you still have a lot of customization because you have a lot more skills than you can use at the same time.

at the first lvls is a bit slow cause you are only given 1 thing per level, but after a while each level gives you 2 or 3 new stuff (like 1 passive + 1 new skill + 1 new rune for an older skill) and it starts to catch up

i think people just over-reacted a lot by the sight of being level 1 and not having the option to spend 1 point into one of the 3 or 4 level 1 skills available as it was in d2, but lets be honest, 95% of the people spent the 1st skill point in the same skill, so its not a big difference if they just give it to you...

Thing is its not a MMO, but with a real currency AH they have to stay ahead/fix hacks, dupes and the such or that can turn into a hot mess soon.

I went to log in this morning and it was down, no biggie ate breakfast and headed off to work.

If the servers have to be down a few hours a week on tuesday to keep it cheat/hack free and do updates i am more then fine with that.

I actually bought a 2nd account yesterday for more storage/auctions.
