Concerning DH and tanking...

Up until yesterday, I was going for the DH "tank"-able build. It kinda sucked. Couldn't really kill anything in Act 2 without running around in circles for 5 minutes at a time whenever encountering a pack of elites (full house, useless teammates). Resists were in the 600 range, armor up to 400. Still died in Act 2 too easily.

Now that I'm mainly sticking to Act 1, I've jacked up my dex and vitality with items that have shitter armor and resists. Now armor is 3k and resists slightly above 400. No major difference in survivability, but huge difference in damage.

tank DH needs lots of LoH and enough armor/resist for the LoH to kick in. I think most tank DH builds make use of the Gas Grenades skill because it apparently procs LoH A LOT.

if you're running in circles in A2, then your DH right now is built for better survivability but not better tanking ability and I'm guessing it's because you're lacking LoH

yeah #1 situation where I build up hatred & crit % is versus Reflect Damage packs and I try to fire 2 Cluster Bombs and SS before the reflect damage

Never made ANY attepmt to hide the fact I am old...
My first "Gaming Rig" was a C64 and back THEN I was married with 2 kids...
Magic Candle..... Sigh... Gaming Goodness.

I KNEW that was the secret... But I aint coordinated enough 9Sometimes CALM enough LOL) to pull off a SS in the right time.

More practice!!!!

the only coordination needed is to mash out Cluster Bombs twice and hopefully have them firing out the proper distance to hit the elites

the SS followup requires no timing. it's just mashing the SS button after firing Cluster Bombs.

Your 890 dps xbow is extremely low dmg for an xbow to the point where id ponder why one would be using that. That is pretty damn low dmg. Does that have other mods on it?

It does. It has:
+171 Min damage
+210 Max damage
+33% damage
+102 strength
+68 dex
+114 vit
+3% damage converted to life
+ socket

I find it really hard to find a better weapon for cheap. I only have like 500K gold.

Any tips for a Demon Hunter at level 60? I kinda sped run to level 60 (if 25 hours is a speed run. I don't think I'd be hired by any korean farming groups). Anyways, I'm still inexperienced with Demon Hunters even at 60. I haven't bought any 60 gear yet. Should I just go with high dex-fair vitality-all resistance gear? Do most max level DHs use a two handed bow and a quiver?

Demon Hunters aren't as OP as I hoped they would be, but then again they got nerfed pretty hard with the IAS reduction. But I'm all for balancing out things. Is the class still considered OP though or not so much? Also I guess I shouldn't really judge the classes' OPness yet since I have really low level gear on still. Didn't buy too much from 45-60 except for weapons because there's no need to buy a whole different equip every few levels if you're speed leveling. Rings are still level 19 and 23 or something, hehe.

I'm having a hard time finding a set of skills I like though. I like the electric elemental arrow that zaps everything around it, and I like piercing arrow, but not really set on anything else. Love vaulting around too but it's bad for mana/hatred/discipline whatever it uses - Ok I'll shut up and go to bed now, any advice will be appreciated.

DHs got nerfed with the nether tentacle change which Blizzard claimed was a "bug fix". Funny how that was not mentioned ANYWHERE as a bug until Blizzard changed it.

The build I use.

Can you explain this a bit more? I find that I'm able to kill so much better with this skill. Usually I can one-shot a white pack when i come to them because i always crit with the cluster arrow. Also, on elite packs, i can get two cluster arrows right away, kite some, and then get another crit. My crit chance without sharpshooter is pretty darn low. Like 18% I think.

You want to continuously progress and keep moving. The extra crit generated is not beneficial to you when you can get another passive that will be more beneficial to survival.

Also, when you get 33% crit chance you are critting 1 out of 3 attacks and 25% is 1 out of every 4 attacks and it is more than that if you have numbers show up.

I have launched cluster bomb into a pack of 5 and seen it crit everything for over 200k easy.

Think my current bow that I've been using forever was 600k on the AH. Attack speed of 1.40, 877 dps base, 140 vit, and a socket. I threw in a 70% crit chance into the socket. It doesn't one-hit kill like the 1250 dps x-bow I found the past week, but it shoots faster so generates more hate more me to cluster arrow and crit more often with.

I think the best you can get for 500k is like 1100 dps x-bow with "okay" stats.

You should be able to gather 120k gold/hour with no gf/mf gear on Act 1 Inferno, or about 100k if you do Siegebreaker in Hell. Just pick up all magics/rares to sell, and get a 5 stack of neph as soon as possible.

1. how much vit//dex who I need?

how do you guys who play glass canon build survive in inferno? i mean what skills you use since even if normal i feel squishy.

They have some pretty good defensive abilities, actually. Smokescreen is like 1.5 seconds (with lingering fog rune) of invulnerability, then there is shadow power with gloom, vault, evasive fire, caltroops (a trap that has a rune that freezes, so if you really want to get away you can use it that way) and probably another one or two im forgetting

I've been starting to salvage the things i find to try my hand at some blacksmith crafting...is that dumb?

My opinion is yes... I have my account at level 10 blacksmithing, and the base items suck. They do not appear to be greater than level 60, and the cost vs. reward is abysmally low. When I first started playing this game, I disenchanted practically everything, and never really had any money. Well, after crafting a bunch of turd, I stopped, and just started sellings stuff so I'd have more money to buy stuff on the AH.

If the item is craftable, it's generally pretty cheap on the AH too since there's such a huge supply. Also, I'm not finding much of any recipes, and those things are expensive on the AH.

What kind of resists, HP, LoH, DPS do I need on a Monk for Act 3/4? I just hit 60 and I have like 1.1k LoH, 690 resists, 33k HP and just under 10k DPS. I am only having trouble with a lot of monsters (like 20+) but I am about half way through Act 2.

Everything is good except dps, aim for 15K+ and try to stack crit. Could use a little resists, maybe 100.

What I do is salvage all junk ilvl 61-63 items, which guarantees the best mats.

The mats themselves can sell for more (AH) then the items sell to merchants, and if you do end up playing this game for a long, long time, eventually you might want a large stash of the best crafting mats... Blizz might buff the craftables, and then all those mats or the crafted items themselves could be worth hundreds of times the amount the merchant would have given you for an item.

Hope they're not really banning people for flipping items, I don't see what the harm is there...if people are willing to buy something with their own money, shouldn't they be able to? Alas the story hasn't been confirmed and it sounds like hearsay at the moment.

I really thought DH would end up being my main but it doesn't really sound like a fun class to play in Inferno. I guess anything is doable with the right equip but my WD is already a run and gun class, and the WD has better skills for inferno, in my opinion. What advantages does the DH have in inferno over WD besides perhaps more damage?

To each his own probably. I had a WD and didnt find him fun or very viable in inferno personally. I actually deleted mine and then made a DH. DH's farm the fastest I think, which one of the main reasons many use them. Its just a different mechanic. Depends how you like to play. I coop mf runs with a WD and they are great to have on a team, but I prefer DH to WD for sure.

DH's have some decent escape abilities and you can make one so you have basically infinite smoke screens which is basically infinite god mode. Just fyi. DH's are all about kiting. I can do a full hour long act1 mf run and almost never get hit sometimes thus repair costs are very low. This kind of changes a little bit in act2 and act3 is still close to impossible for me though heh.

I dunno, kiting is kinda boring and tedious, so maybe DH is not what I'm looking for. Also you deleted a level 60 character? Was he taking up valuable character space or what?

Yes and yes. I have 3 classes lvl'd to 60 and I didnt want to have 4 after making the DH. The rest are mules.

It only takes 1 night to get to lvl a character up to 50 anyways so....not a big deal.

Youre a bit late on that tip. The lvl 60 mats used to sell for 2.5-3k gold for a while. Now they are down to 1100-1500. Thats how many people made lots of gold. Every lvl 60 item was worth at least 2.5-3k. Those rare lvl 60 mats used to be worth 1500 gold too, but now they are down to like 100 gold.

well this may be popular for the MF crowd

No not really. Its decent for a barb I guess, anyone other than a barb and its not that helpful. You can find way better on the AH for like 50k gold.

A little tip about MF helms. All are worthless almost unless they have MF with a socket. Then the higher stat they have for the class, the more expensive they get. You also need crit chance on there.
