they were thinking about improving the WD summonings making them scale with vitality
they were thinking about being able to add a gem to the blacksmith to force a stat

Don't ya get a big herd of monsters chasing after ya though or do you have enough movement speed to leave em in the dust? Sounds like a good plan.

You will typically leave them in the dust even with only +12% movement speed. I opt for the extra +10% for a total of 22% (Usain Bolt mode) using the "Fleet Footed" passive (Only use this if you can, killing speed/not dying is still priority #1). If there are some blocking you blind them or use serenity.

I think barbs can go up to +75% movement speed so they are even better for this type of farming run.

is there a list so you know what rares to pick up? trying to increase my efficiency farming

It is easier to create a black list of items you know not to pick up. iLvl63 after many runs you'll notice the names immediately. They are the "uber" items of the game right now. They have the potential to be worth 100 Million+ gold especially weapons.

For armor a good rule of thumb is iLvl60 or better pick up. All "Archon" armor is iLvl63 (i.e. Archon Crown, Archon Greeves, Archon Spaulders, etc.).

For weapons it is iLvl63 or bust. I also keep iLvl62 as there is a chance they can get respectable damage, but they won't be uber. iLvl61 and below is pure garbage as their base DPS is too low.

All other items like ammys, rings, follower, quivers - just pick them up. In Inferno most stuff will be iLvl60+ anyways.

Not trolling, is this game worth playing yet?

The game is definitely worth playing. I love the interface and gameplay engine. You will have a good time with it and spend tons of hours playing it. There are definitely flaws in the game like group play, end game item and build diversity, but expect Blizzard to constantly improve the game over the next few months - it is in their best interests to do so.

ah haha i've just been picking up all rares, i just do vault of the assasin runs with a 5 stack, takes me maybe 10 minutes if that just running for elites only

i already skip blues and gold as it's not worth picking up like everyone said, the seconds you spend picking up all the blues/gold will start to add up and you can do more runs if you skip em.

the drops have been shit the last 3-4 days for me tho, out of 20-25 rares, only 2-3 are ilevel 61+. most have been 54-58 WTFFFFFFFFFFFFF

its random

sometimes you have a champ/elite pack in every corner, sometimes you will only encounter 5 packs in total. but regardless, if you log out in vault and log back in, by the time you are done clearing you will at least have 5 stacks of NV. usually you will be able to kill another handful of packs with 5 stacks, but that may vary.

i usually: log out in vault, resume, take the portal out to desolate sands to find out where you are, step back in then tp to town. goto black canyon mines and clear the packs, goto road to alcarnus, clear the elite across the bridge, then go to ancient path to check on goblin, then take WP back to town and take TP to vault. clear and repeat.

You don't need to log out in the vault. As long as you start your game on the last quest you will automatically spawn at the vault after starting a new game. It will spawn you at furthest location along the quest chain you visited so for your runs it would be the vault. You should add the sewers to your run as well. It's 1+ packs and chance of goblin. It's a small area so it goes quick.

yes cuz you want a 5 stack going INTO the vault as the packs are all inside the vault unlike the other places where you have to hunt for them

Why do you want a full NV stack going into the vault? What difference does it make by getting the stack in the vault and killing the other packs as you run through the other locations vs getting the stack from other locations and ending in the vault? If on any given random run you encounter say 12 packs, you're going to have to lose 5 of them to get the stack regardless.

different mobs have different drop tables. the tougher the mob, the better the drop rate. so elite guardians and mages will drop better loot as their loot tables are better. i think d3incgamers has a loot table discussion, but it may just pertain to act3 and 4

i do the same run as bonkers, the mine, then alcarnus (usually i can get a 4-5 stack before the vault doing this route) if not i just run in with a 4 stack.

i do this because my farming run ends at the vault so i want a 5 stack going in. i guess you can do it anyway you want really, however the vault is "further" along the game so in my mind better loot drops so i gain the 5 stack at "earlier" waypoints

Blizz developers have stated that the drop rates and loot tables are the same throughout acts. I.E. all elite packs and bosses in Act 2 have the same drop rates.

And the only thing that changes between acts is the ilevel % drop chance.

Found and bought it at about 20m. Didn't really want to blow that much on my barb but it seemed like too good a deal to pass up. The auction was new with 1d11hr and I got the feeling this was a hot deal based on the 2 days I've been trying to gear up and have been unable to win anything decent.

20M? If the Str and Vit were reversed maybe. 20M seems pretty steep although I can't verify by doing a AH check.

the stat budget on that is insane. i dont know if its worth 20m, but you can definitely afford to skimp out on vitality on some other pieces to average the cost of your gear down.

That's what I figured as well, if I got those pants(prob have to get chest with high vit as well) then I can essentially go pure str on everything else and maybe save gold there. If I overpaid, I don't think it was by much. I was getting tired of waiting for the right deal to come along.

I did check the AH and according to the results for 170str 200 vit and 60 all res, the closest match is around 50m. But I don't trust those values unless it has bids. There was one however that had about 70 all res, acane res, 240 vit and 100 str with 2 empty sockets that was no buyout with bids around 70m so I took that as a good sign.

Not sure, a couple of the items are swappable between the barb and monk so I kinda like being able to switch between 2 geared classes. My monk will have more versatility as I'll now be able to switch to dual wield once I get a new mainhand for the barb.

Also just read that 1.04 patch notes are forthcoming so depending on the changes, I may or may not preemptively sell everything off as I did with 1.03 which gave me quite an advantage as I got into the crit build early and cheaply for my monk. The legendary item buff might be worthwhile.

Yea, most peoplre really need to just get lucky to get ahead. I was really fortunate that I got about 150m worth of drops spanning over a week a couple months back. Shit poor luck since. Now I'm heading back to the poor house with my purchases. :\
