You can sell the stuff to the vendor for some decent gold, rather than salvage it.

I need to start doing this. I have like over 1000 of each resource item from salvaging now, so I don't need any more. I've probably missed well over a million gold by breaking down instead of selling.

On a side note, I got the ring that lets you complete a set with one fewer items now... woohoo! I got it from a Horadric Cache after doing Act 4 with a friend. It's the first legendary I've gotten from a cache.

It gets expensive. I was rerolling something to get perfect crit chance, and it was costing me upwards for 250k a roll (granted, I have rolled this like 30 times).

Rares aren't really worth it to reroll unless it is near perfect minus one stat. With the mystic and how often rares drop, you're more likely to find something better, or just off a little without wasting the money.

Also, if anyone is hurting for money, I suggest farming bounties on normal and gambling. You can sell the stuff to the vendor for some decent gold, rather than salvage it.

Does the gold cost increase as you re-roll the same item?

I have that ring as well. It is pretty good (if you can ever find sets...) It is a cache only legendary from Act 1 (Act 4 caches have all Act specific legendaries though).

I actually could have completed that Blackthorne set, but I destroyed a lvl 60 belt shortly before I got the ring to drop. I still have the amulet, and I wear the pants. The belt was a big downgrade for me though, so probably wouldn't have been worth it.

Rolling stats is a blessing to have given the gap between good drops.

As soon as I got the Mystic, I upped my dps by 200k just from re-rolling. Only cost me 1-2mil gold and I already had all the mats.

Now I judge items based on whether or not re-rolling a stat is worth it. One "trick" I accidentally learned is holding CTRL while viewing an item will show you the min-max range for the stats. Lets me gauge how much better the item could be if I just wait for another drop.

In general, a legendary is too expensive to re-roll one stat more than once or twice. But, if you never find a good drop it doesn't matter much.

Huh? Rerolling rares is totally worth it. Fuck going for perfect rolls, I go for specific stat rolls, doing so and finding just a few good legs can easily put a toon at t1 level, at which point rares will no longer really meet your needs.

I did, got a belt that may replace my witching hour (hellcates), a trifecta leorics rings, and a near perfectly rolled shield, which if I ever need toughness it boosts mine to 11m.

Rares are fine way past T1, you'll have a far easier time finding gloves/rings/amulets with the right stats than you will legendaries most likely. And re-rolling them is pretty cheap and almost always worthwhile - just don't go rerolling it a hundred times trying to get 2 more resist all or 3 more vit or something trivial.

I am just meaning, it isn't worth it to spend thousands of gold and mats rerolling a rare item. Let's say, I find bracers and am trying to reroll it to 15% lightning damage. It just isn't worth the cost to reroll the item 20 times, when I could just farm another pair of bracers that has the 3 of the 4 main stats I am looking for (and possibly, higher than the ones I'm rolling).

Although, my experience could be skewed, as I have found decent gear.

But, for anything other than weapons, continuously rolling a stat is not worth the cost. You will likely find a nearly identical item that is cheaper to reroll with a little time investment.

Also, if anyone has any of the 70 white shoulders or finds any, could you please let me have some? I want to make Corruption shoulders, but can't find any whites... Have the rest of the mats.

Do battlefields in act 5.

Rolling for 15% elemental will be costly, but rerolling vitality for dexterity on a weapon or socket is cheap and quick.

Any of the sites have a breakdown of which stats are the best, like which resist to get what type of +dmg etc...

Stuff like that is all dependent on your character and gear. Generally, there are levels you want to attain in order for skills to work. Such as a monk, you want at least 40% crit and 2.01 APS (at least, that is what it used to be, I don't know now). And a good rule of thumb is 10:1 crit damage : crit chance. After that, dex (only to the softcap of 7k) > vit / AR > anything else really. I suppose LoH should be factored in now somewhere, and more armor doesn't hurt. And, you are going to want to do the +elemental damage based on your build or your build based on your gear. Let's say, you find a Thunderfury. It would probably be a good idea to go lightning monk and stack +lightning damage. Let's say you find an Andy's helm and a Cindercoat. I'd probably go with a fire build then and stack +fire damage. And, since I think every build uses Sweeping Wind, if you can afford the stat slot on shoulders, the +Sweeping Winds Damage is the way to go.

Yeah that's what I'd like to find listed somewhere, all the softcaps/sugested cut points for the different classes and stat balance.
