Only had 8 of those mats to sell, didn't played much in the past months. 400k gold is so not much nowadays.

I'm at 2.5M gold...i'm poor

I suppose you are, but I'm worse off, money wise.

I don't have a fully gem'd toon yet, so I never have more than 200,000 gold.

They had previously removed the white item requirment. Also this did was remove the one item required from a paticular mob drop, basically just removing some of the RNG factor with crafting. Hard to see how that kills the system.

Yea I just made 13.4 selling mine & in the same game found 2 more Adventurer's Journals.

I finally crafted all my Aughilds/Borns for my WoW/EB Wizard, thought I would be a lot tankier after the reduced dmg, but I actually feel weaker going from 370k life to 320k life. Yeah I lost 50k life, but I gained a lot of -dmg and I switched to deflection for the shield.

I can still crush T4, but T6 I am still going to be limited by not having a SoJ, I need that 30% elite dmg.

Remember that ground effects (Plagued, Desecrator, Arcane etc) are not reduced by "Reduce Dmg From Elites" modifiers so you still take the same dmg from them with a reduced health pool.

I disagree. Crafting is now more part of the game.

Pre-2.0, you had all these low level legendaries that no one ever used because the time you spent between level 21 where you could first get a particular legendary, and level 31 where that legendary is crap compared to any level 31 yellow or blue, is so short compared to the time it would take for you to actually find that level 21 legendary.

Post-2.0, all of those legendaries can now roll at whatever level your character is, so you actually have time to find them and make them useful.

That is basically the same as here. The time it would take for me to grind out all of the mats for a particular crafted legendary, and craft it multiple times is likely longer than it would take for me to just find a better legendary on its own.

Now, with the buffs to class-specific set items, there's no way anyone would spend time grinding for legendary mats to craft a mediocre legendary. By making this change, they have turned crafted legendaries into something you can use right when you hit L70 as a way to access T1-T3 before you get the really good set stuff.

Key word I said was interesting. This game is being retardized, and if you can't see it, go buy yourself a console.

Me thinkin you need time on a console if you think removing the need for a single rng drop makes the crafting system less interesting than it as.

I really need to farm blacksmithing plans...only have 1 bracers, one Glove and one other weapon so far.

Is there an effective place to farm crafting plans?

Well the way they are simplifying crafting it wouldn't surprise me if the next patch doesn't just give you all the plans. But, for now I don't know where the best place to farm plans is.

I think most of the plans are random drops. I believe Reaper Wraps are Malthael only drop (at least, that is the only place I've heard of them dropping).

So, really, unless you want those (and you likely do, they are BiS for a few classes IIRC), you should just keep going about your business. I have nearly every plan I believe.

Starmetal Kukri is something like a L10 legendary, but it's great for L70 WDs because it can roll L70 stats. 2.0 made it so you had greater access to more legendaries.

That's what this patch to the crafting legendaries does too. Once you have a full 6-piece set with everything BIS, why bother farming mats and crafting? It's the exact same thing.

The crafting change lets you craft legendaries right away (well, sort of). A fresh 70 is going to have a hard time farming crafting mats to make maybe upgrades. Now, however, they can craft right after they find that plan. And since the majority of the legendaries simply aren't BiS and weaker than most legendaries you find anyway, this gives newer characters an easier upgrade path.


Question of DHs, would it be worth it to craft the bow that gives 5-8% elite damage? It automatically rolls APS as well, so you'd have to hope one of the other rolls is either a socket or damage so you can reroll the APS. But, now it should be really easy to craft a ton of them. I am just wondering if it would be better than a hand crossbow. The 8% increased damage would be nice.

That line of thought is counter to your own argument.

Nobody cares about crafted anything because it's all about lvl 70 gambled and found class sets and legs. But here you are.

I posted my thoughts about this earlier in the thread. All this does is make the transition to T5-6 go smoother. Plans still have to be found, and it only helps getting a character as high as possibly T4.

Unless your idea of a fun time was starting a game, checking the map for a specific bounty, leaving and repeating until you got the one you were looking for. I rather playing, myself.

Pretty sure for the "high-end" end game, nothing was changed, as those toons absolutely don't [and never have] rely on crafted items.

And aside from that, the costs in death's breath and forgotten souls went up enough that it's still a grind.

I started running T6 pub games and wow, I am getting tons of gold. I'm currently wearing just a tad over 300% gold find on my gear, and with party bonus and T6 bonus, I have a total gold bonus of 7,000%.

The highest gold pile drop I've seen was 88K, with plenty of 30K+ piles as well.

Trolldala is on a roll. In my clan the last 2 days 4 of us have spent exactly 2K shards on boots & only boots. All of us have exactly the same rewards for it, 1x Blackthornes Spurs & 1x Boj Janglers.

Saying that I have got a full Akkhan set now, if only ANY of the bits rolled good stats.

I went through one rift last night, and all 5 drops were set items in that one rift. Just none of them were what I needed. 1k wep, bul kathos wep, ik boots, raekor pants, bt belt. I did find eq helm for which allows me to do the leap build, but I really want eq shoulder and ik belt. So, I can run both sets. About 4k shards at least so far, and no luck on eq shoulders.

I got 2 jade set pieces yesterday and an azurewrath (not a good one though), in the last 5 minutes of the last rift that I was just about to give up on.

Finally got the eq shoulders. Played the EQ\Leap build for 2 rifts. It was a lot o fun Jumping around. I'm still figuring out how to maximize my DPS with it.

Figured I'd post this in case some people didn't see it. Some notes on 2.1 taken from Diablofans.

-Old Legendaries are going to get revamped in 2.1, but not retroactively, so hoarding them now is pointless

-No ETA for 2.1 yet, but some information about the patch will be shared 'pretty soon'

-Details about Legendary Gems are coming 'very soon' in a blog post

-The aforementioned Legendary gems will most probably fit into Rings and Amulets

-The devs are currently looking at how the Infernal Machine events can be improved (both as process and reward structure)

-The so-called "Hellfire Amulet" will come with 2.1 Hellfire Amulet will unlock a randomly rolled Passive for your class

-Tiered Rifts are not going to be static dungeons: they are random - same as Nephalem Rifts, but the devs are working on toning down the amount of randomness that can impact the time for finishing a Rift

-Reduction of Conduit Pylon's power is being tested internally for Tiered Rifts, because the devs don't want players at the top of the Leaderboards to be there just because of luck

-The monsters in Tiered Rifts will drop no loot, but the bosses at the end will compensate with huge amounts of loot, including a very high chance for Legendaries, gems, crafting plans, and so on

-Cindercoat used to be even stronger internally and already was tuned down, but Blizzard is aware that it is still REALLY strong; no plans to nerf it though. (yay!)

-Invoker Set was originally intended to be a Crusader set as Thorns was a larger theme for Crusaders

-The devs are working on a new Crusader set that will buff Phalanx or Shield Bash
