The Unity hate is funny. It requires at least three specific drops and the appropriate gear for your character to stand a chance in higher difficulties. It's not like it ups their damage to ridiculous levels. It helps survivability.

It's like saying you don't care about T6 clear times if they have a full jade set. Oh, they have MoJ and all that other gear? I don't really care. IT'S THE SAME.

Nope, because you can't use it in team play. Most people get bored quickly of soloing rifts.

I don't need Unity to stand a chance in higher Torment levels. I don't hate it but if someone is dependent upon it to clear T6 and then brags about clear times, I just brush it to the side. Relying on a 50% damage reduction to clear T6 in a timely manner just doesn't feel right to me. Nothing more.

As someone else said, running solo is boring.

Damn I dunno if that's the same for you but every session I log in I get at least one legendary. Yesterday I got The Crudest Boots and another 1H flail...

I'm now 58 on my Crusader so that may be not that relevant but it's freaking cool to get so much orange beams!

I average about 3 per run roughly. It's just tough finding a specific item. Which makes sense in a game like this of course.

Been working on my monk now. Has anyone tried the CDR Tempest rush with inner sanctuary build? It is awesome. If you enjoyed the WW barb pre 2.0, you will love this build. Key is to have about 67 or so % CDR to keep up epiphany/inner sanctuary. You just run around with TR and your clones kill everything + with CDR so high you can keep acension up almost at all times so survivability is great. Kill time is a bit on the slow side though.

I finished the last fight at level 59 (took me 4 tries to finally get it right). Now up to level 64 just running bounties in Zone 1, collecting usable rares & legendaries. The game really seemed to change (DPS-wise) as soon as I hit level 60/61, the gear is just insane! I went from like 8K dps during final fight to now, four levels higher, hitting 80-90K dps.

Few questions now:
-I have collected like 7 of those rift keys, but am unsure if I should use them or save until I'm level 70. If this game is like WoW the game will change again at level 70 in terms of gear & etc. Right or not? If I run rifts at <70 will I be able to survive? Or would it be better to finish leveling, finding better gear, then start running rifts? Is the whole T1/T2/etc a hardness you select when you open a rift?
-I have also found a few (like 5 or 10) of the shards that you trade for mystery equipment. I assume you really get lots more of these in rifts than in general bounty play? As above, is it better to use these while leveling or wait until I hit 70?
-Finally, how do I get up with some of you guys to play? Or do I really need to wait until level 70 for that? I have a couple of RL friends I play with sometimes but many nights I'm running solo and it's just not as fun.

You can go ahead and use those rift keystones now if you'd like. You can easily get more keystones by doing bounties at anytime. In fact, once you hit L70, you should be doing bounties to find the Ring of Royal Grandeur, an almost "necessary" end game ring to have, found only in Act 1 bounty caches (and sometimes in A4 caches). Thus, while you are looking for the RoRG, you will end up with lots of rift keystones.

Along with my response above, once you get enough rift keystones, you will be doing more Rift runs (or join Rift it Forward groups) and you will get lots more blood shards to spend on gambling/mystery loot. Note that you can only carry 500 max blood shards at any one time. So you can use the ones you have now but that's like 1 or 2 gambles, no big deal.

Any build you make using it for max damage is basically useless in multiplayer as you will die constantly from lack of toughness. These builds are also useless to anyone who doesn't have the rings which is likely the vast majority of players.

also, wtf am i doing wrong? I thought these games were all about loot and all i get is junk, even off the bosses!!

I very rarely find anything worth keeping for my monk. I've a ton of legendary 2 hd swords but i hate using them on the monk. so slow. playing on hard, in angel land now sealing hell rifts - 1st play through.

wish i could up the difficulty again. everything is too easy. even the bosses. the only thing that gives me trouble is those spinning laser things if i get caught in them too long.

The game generally gives you stuff that you can use and has stats that are good for you. However, this doesn't necessarily mean you'll get the outright best type of items or with the best stats. I got a 2H legendary sword for my Malthael kill on... my Wizard I think.

Also, most of the gear that you get from leveling will just be replaced soon after you hit max level anyway.

This is a grind game. Don't expect to be geared instantly. The more you play, the more gear you will find. And if you're not level 70 yet, who cares at all what your drops are. The game changes once you hit 70. If anything, save your ranting/complaining until you get to 70 and find yourself upgrading 1 item every 3 weeks lol :biggrin:

Same can be said of a lot of equipment-dependent builds. Which just strengthens my point. It's their play style. Are they actively hindering yours?

This isn't a gear dependent build but more of a gear dependent playstyle. I have seen some try to carry over their playstyle into group play and it not work. They have an artificial 50% toughness when soloing and then in group play wonder why they die.

A good example of using a different playstyle and doing well is Alkaizer. He uses the unity when solo and when he would play with someone else he would use a stormshield and change up his playing a little.

What your doing wrong? Nothing. All you need to do is play more. You can't get good gear for playing 30minutes each day unless you are rngesus.

Playing on hard difficulty? Of course it's easy lol even if you equip all blue gear it's still a breeze in the park. By the times you hit 70 all your gear will be worthless. So the grind starts all other again lol. Just wait till you reach level 70.

Yes. He streams some times. Alkaizer is around 756.

Is anyone here active on EU servers? I'm in a small German clan but no one is really on much. I'm looking for some other players who can comfortably clear the T3-T4 range, particularly anyone who isn't a wizard (I find that multiple wizards in a group don't seem to do too well, everyone races backwards to avoid getting hit and dps drops accordingly). In a good group I won't die on T3 or T4 for at least 10 rifts or will die if I get very reckless/careless, and I'm looking to benefit from those exp pools instead of dying in pub games when people randomly go afk, or hover at the back shooting nothing, and having my vote kicks vetoed by people.

On the unity issue, yeah it takes 3 specific drops, but the drop for your mercenary doesn't say "takes no damage at all", it says "mercenary does not die", and I think this is where peoples' gripe lies. Having said that, I gave up on soloing as soon as I had my taste of a good group - especially with a monk that pulls clusters of monsters into my meteors, making things a breeze during black hole cooldowns.
