At work and can't get there right now, but in the barb forum on battle.net, there is a thread with timed testing on GRs detailing and discussing the Furnace vs. Maximus. They time the RG take down and it was within 1 sec of each other, then they analyze the perfomance on elite packs and standard mobs and proclaim Maximus the BIS winner.


For the record I use a Furnace for my leapquake barb. The higher base dmg helps with both cota and EQ.

I have a greatly rolled Maximus that had I not rolled the secondary on it, I would use a gift on it. I did use a gift on a Maximus for my Barb that I rarely play.

A Furnace is not a common drop.

I have 5 legendary gems on my two chars now but no legendary or set rings i can use them on. I could put them on a yellow ring but how long before i find legendary or set rings with sockets? My chars are at paragon levels 41 and 39.

Those will drop the greater Torment you play. Depending on your class and the build you're going for, farming act 1 bounties is a good place to start for a Rorg. I finally got 1 with CD that I could roll the LOH to a socket. You could also partner up with someone in the clan who is a little further along in the same class and they could donate their drops to you.

I know it's not really a constructive input, but I really LOVED D3...played it for the longest, made a shitton of money, paragon lvl etc.

But I entirely stopped playing because I will NEVER, EVER start from scratch with seasons. The game was the biggest grind in existence and seasons for me just killed it. So haven't even touched it after the latest patch.

dang, i am only playing on T1 so far. My monk could probably move up but i think my Crusader is not ready for T2 yet. Although if you get someone high enough level and i can keep myself from dying i could probably do it.

Do they not allow the crusader to have any Wrath regenerating equipment? My monk has a ton of Spirit regeneration armor but my Crusader has none for Wrath and I am constantly running out.

I am not sure how many people use seasons, seems like quite a few people still use non seasonal characters.

I don't think you are missing anything by still playing a non seasonal character.

Just so you know, Diablo 3 in DSR mode running at downscaled 4K is looking great but you must get past the noticeable input lag.
In a game like D2 it's not big deal though.

You're not required to do seasons. They don't get different stuff and AFAIK there's only a few pieces of gear that are season specific and its mostly for transmog purposes.

Not that bad really and mostly unrelevant in a game like Diablo. It's not a FPS or a game that you really need sharp quick mouse movement to be good at it so yeah, i'd say you won't even know it's there.

When you're doing GRifts 40+ you freak the f*ck out if you lag, especially if it's a decent set of monsters that don't suck and a map that's not annoying. Constant input lag would make me want to throw my keyboard.

Last week, I bought ROS collector's edition ($22) after not playing D3 for the last two years. I had a level 60 monk and a level 39 witch doctor.

Now I have a level 70 DH and a level 10 Wizard. I'm at paragon 159. I can solo T6 with my DH (M6) but I am waiting on TnT to drop. I don't know when it'll happen. It wasn't until Paragon 130 that anything beyond a Marauder's glove dropped. I've played about 48 hours. (47 on DH. Mostly grinding in rifts.)

This game is stupid with the new system. It's really annoying and takes out the fun. Trading is almost impossible and you can only basically give people free loot that you have no use for and someone else would. It also puts you at a severe loot disadvantage to work with other classes.

The FPS drops are also super annoying. I have a 7970 w/ i7-4770, I shouldn't get anything below 60FPS at all times but it drops into the 0-5FPS region all the time. According to random forum guy, it's due to D3's always online DRM system and that's why Blizzard isn't fixing the issue. (They'd have to revamp the always online DRM system (difficult) or get rid of it (never going to happen)) So, as usual, the customer is fucked by Blizzard again.

The market place ruined the game but now the lack of any trading has also ruined the game. It's really annoying and I don't know why they didn't go back to the D2 system of trading. That actually was fine except for the couple buggy issues. (Couldn't trade certain charms easily)

I've never gotten FPS lag and I run a similar rig to yours and play at 2560x1440. (I use a r9 280x, which is similar to the 7970 anyway) Only time I'm lagging is if I have 3 elite packs with 4 people in game and a fuckload of electrified and frozen and other shit go off at the same time, and even then its like a 10 fps drop. Only other time I was desyncing recently was when they were getting DDOSed.

I rather like the smart loot system. It keeps me from getting completely useless redundant pieces, and if I play with someone else to leech I'm guaranteed to get a bunch of upgrades. I've rarely touched my crusader/dh/monk and I already have almost full sets for them because I play a bunch with my friends. You upgrade so much faster than before it's not even funny.
