as a wiz what should i be filtering armor by?
intel + crit + attack speed?
there's no diff from what i've seen from my 22-23k hp to a 38k hp as i get one shot in inferno regardless haha
my dps is 24k ish with a 2 handed staff, should i be going 1 hand wand with an offhand? how are you guys getting over 50k dps ?
1. To not get one shot, you will need Energy Armor/Force Armor and HP over 20k and resists in the 300s or so. Most mobs will not 1 shot you after that.
2. 1h vs 2h depends on which inferno act you are on and what your spec is. For an orb/mm kiting spec, you will need fast attack speed so your animations don't lock you in place, for example.
3. For me to get 48k dps, I use a 950dps 1 hander along with a 100-375 dmg off hand with 115int. I have 12% attack speed on my bracers and 12% on my gloves and run with force weapon.
4. Other stats also provide a DPS boost, crit chance (mine is hovering around 32%), crit damage (mine is +195%).
There is really no best build for inferno, it really depends on the act. In general, I like going with high crit/high crit dmg/orb destruction build. I get arcane back per crit, I get + 10 from helm, + 10 from offhand and +7 from weapon so I get 27 arcane back and it cost 20 arcane per orb and 0 arcane from my hydra attacks per crit (which I do 1 out of 3 attacks). When I fight huge packs that my orb can hit, I never run out of arcane. Smaller packs or fast packs, I tend to run out.
My 950dps 1 hand isn't godly in any sense but for the build I run, it has a lot of synergy. It has a crap 200 dex useless stat but it has +7 arcane energy per crit and +95% crit damage on it so it runs very synergistic with my gear and build.
Edit: So I got one of the craziest deals on the AH a week ago. I got a socketed 195int, 7% crit chance, + 50% crit damage, + 80 regen amulet from some crazy SOB for 40k. LOLOLOL! This amulet alone is worth 5k dps on my wiz. I can easily sell this for 6m+ on the AH.
