So I bought an OK shield to try the theory out. DPS went down to about 11.9K

Shield was like 1800 more armor with 88 more resist and 5.5% to crit

My life is 22.9K
My Armor was 9400 when buffed with the Mantra of Evasion. Tried deadly reach instead of crushing wave to get that boost in Armor, my Resists were all at about 560, had the 3 skills you told me to use and I just got smashed even harder than before. Not sure if that was possible.

BTW, I had already been using the earth spirt, but it costs so much spirit that I can hardly even do shit with the other things I need to cast. I was using transcendance, which heals you for every spirit spent and I think that is better than the one that gives you 100% of your armor based on dex, as I have about 950 dex which doesn't make that big of a difference.

inferno isn't hard, its just that the stat distribution on your gear is rather terrible. 950 dex is about 50% lower than what most monks running act2/act3 are using, and you have way too little health. if you are running with those kinds of stats, you seriously need to stack LoH to stay alive. and even then, you will get eaten alive by elites with bad affixes.

Game still having terribad system latency issues. Log in, clear AH items, hop in char, empty bag from items during last play, combine new gems, then head out after being in game for about 10 minutes. Come across an elite pack almost instantly and the game goes to a crawl for about 2 seconds when the first combat starts then plays normally after that.



Also saw the post from the blizz pres, some interesting stuff but will see what they actually implement.

Thanks dude, yea I just sit in the menus and leave the game running so I apologize. I got my dex up quite a bit but I just need to get some new stuff for sure.

Inferno is just too hard for me

I was running into this issue initially with my monk too, actually ended up switching to a DH for a while. However I hit a wall in Act 3 with the DH and decided to try the monk again. Using this monk guide (http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4211087360), I was able to finally beat Diablo in Inferno a couple of days ago. My final stats were roughly 850 resist all, just under 30k hp, 31% block, ~33% dodge, just under 20k dps, 794 LoH, and about 30% crit chance and 150% crit damage.

Some additional thoughts on the monk:

Movement speed on boots is pretty vital IMHO, it allows you to dodge in and out of arcane sentries, plague pools, etc. more effectively, and allows you to kite more effectively waiting for your cooldowns.

Find a cheap Helm of Command on the AH, the 8% block seems to make a big difference in survivability.

If you're going to do LoH, I think it's better to get a faster weapon (Dagger, Fist, Sword) so you get more hits in.

lol aight, dual wield works pretty good when you have really high dps but is prohibitively more expensive than with a shield and with 13k dps, the dw is actually hurting you imo.

You'll definitely need more life. Granted I play hardcore, but there was a point when my monk had 70k+ life

This game feels exactly like Diablo 2, play until you pretty much reach Pindle or Baal runs, do it over and over again with MF for rare items. The only difference now is I can actually sell some really good rares for USD without jumping through hoops and worry about scams.

I agree exactly. I don't play a whole lot, but that's just because I'm doing other things and don't play games nearly as much as I used to. But I still think it's a fun game. I played a lot of Diablo II and while there's definitely differences between the two, I think a LOT of people are looking back at D2 through rose-colored glasses.

I had over 55k when I was level 59-ish. Then Inferno happened and I dumped a lot of good equipment with str and vit for resist gear.

All my friends lost interest weeks ago (like everyone else) but I'm still in it and enjoying it until I beat inferno at least. The problem is since all my friends stopped playing I have no one else to play with - I suck at soloing and don't like to anyways. Can't play with 3 other random people once you get to act 2 inferno, it's just not going to work out unless they are all godly geared and know what they are doing.

I think Blizz will be making some big changes before too long, with so many people jumping ship.

If it doesn't get better and they don't really put some effort into supporting it, I think Blizzard will damage their reputation. I don't like Warcraft or Starcraft, so Diablo is the one franchise I'll buy that they have going.

No real luck selling on RMAH, tried for as little as $35 but nothing. So I went to the gold AH and sold it for 50 million, which I just took and sold all that gold on the RMAH and it sold for $107 minus fees and I netted $80 for one item.

But I don't think I can ever really play the game again because I will never upgrade my items. If I have a 10 million gold item I will always think I can make $20 from that and just sell it.

I think most will agree the game has many flaws, but one of the biggest issues they have is how badly they screwed up coop play. Ive never heard of a game that actually gets so much harder when cooped with others. They completely flopped on that aspect of it for sure. I like playing coop with others, its more fun that way. I dont want to just play by myself.... Combine this issue with the fact you cant pick which servers to join with a player count on them, the game seems to deter people from playing coop quite a bit. This is one of the many issues they have with it imo.

Yeah no doubt they will get to fixing the issues, or some of them. I fear many of the problems they have are so fundamental to the game, they might be tricky to "patch". I agree completely. I have reached the point of almost losing interest in the game. I dont like games where the main focus is on economics and making money. Ive made money in this game which is cool, but I look for more in a game than just that.

same here. Tried to sell some 63s today.....not a single offer.

I still get killed a bit on A2 now, I'm towards the end of it...my resists are at 1000-1100 at this point...tried A3 with a friend earlier....went well, then the first boss pack instagibbed me. Not sure what else I can do at this point

I threw about 100 of the blue and yellow Inferno ones on the week the commodity market opened and couldn't sell anything.

Oh for the love of.........I was on the zoltan kulle quest and had to get one more vial of his blood...I switched quests and did a few butcher runs today...then I went back and I have to start the quest over, which I expected...what I didn't is that it erased me having found any way point past the oasis. Fuck that.

exquisite essence you can sell. They sell in under 5 minutes for me, and the price keeps rising.

grrrr playing act 3/4 inferno makes me want to quit the game forever. It's like all the equipment you have accumulated, all the armor, all the vitality, all the resistances you have don't help you in any way. It r be depressing.

Considering selling my stuff on the RMAH, but maybe i'll just see what they do with the next patch first.
