Started a Wizzie out of boredom... got her to lvl 40 already. Started shopping the AH for upgrades with reduced level requirement and noticed they go into the millions for i63 items with 17/18 reduced lvl requirement. I grimaced a bit because I know I've definitely vendored at least one of them before thinking they were junk.

edit: I'm talking about weapons specifically. Trash weapons that you would normally vendor that's decently high in dps say 6-700ish is going for roughly 1m+ as long as the reduced lvl requirement is 16+ (so basically high dps weapons for lvls 42-44)

Looking for some advice from you barbs...

I found what I think is a very nice 1h mighty weapon and want to build a barb around it. I'm playing demon hunter so I'm kinda clueless.

It's an 896 dps 1h mighty weapon with 825 loh, 104 strength and a socket. The loh is what I'm a noob with, do I want to stack this in other items? Do I use it as an offhand? Shield or duel wielding? I've got about 10 million and would like to be able to do well in act 1. Thanks.

That's a very nice weapon. Should take you beyond Act 1. What you want to do is put a nice emerald in the socket for Crit Damage, and balance your barb with crit chance\loh equipment. 800+ is already a decent amount of loh, so you don't have to heavily invest in that, I would imagine.

I can tank Act3 with my WD with just 900 loh.

with that weapon and mediocre gear (100k tops) you can definitely do act1 and probably most of act2.

Act 1? Please... He'll kill Diablo with that weapon. With that much LoH he shouldn't need any more, so he can socket for crit damage as suggested and stack crit on other items.

That is easily an act 4 weap.

I get by with that. With your weap as my main, I would be so free to regear some stuff and really be able to wade thru 4. Would absolytely rape.

So, that is an end game weap. If you can the rest of your gear decent (shooting for 600 res all unbuffed, 1800 str+, and at least 45k hp), grab a good off hand (+str and vit, crit) and you'll do just fine.

He could faceroll all of Inferno with that weapon and less than one million in gear as a tank. It will take him a long time to replace it.

As a dpser it still takes a bit. I have 1400+ life on hit and can do act 3 and 4 slowly. Crap hits really hard in those acts and as a tank barbarian you are fine with that weapon.

You have no vitality on those shoulders is why they were cheap. Each point of vitality is 35 health.

40k health gives you 1600 health, which is 46 vitality
50k health gives you 2000 health, which is 58 vitality
60k health gives you 2400 health, which is 69 vitality

The percent health on the shoulders gets added to the socket in your helm percent, if you have one which you should, you are missing out on even more availability for health.

Its not a Diablo 3 patch or anything, the 1.5 update of Starcraft 2 is rolling out, its a huge update so they need to do maintenance on the whole server to make sure everything goes together smoothly.

working as intended = making money off the RMAH. so yea, it's working as intended!

what do you mean dial in authenticator? isn't there just a key type authenticator and another mobile authenticator? not aware there's another type?

as DH...what stats do i need to be able to do act3?

i can solo act1 pretty easily, and i can do solo act2 with some difficulty... i normally play with a monk tank friend....when we are 2 we cant do act2 :S

what stats should i look for in each gear piece?

Shoulders + pants + chest + belt= as much dexterity as i can afford
boots = dext + mov speed
gloves = AS/Crit Chance/Crit Damage/Dext
bracers = Dext / Crit chance
helm = dext / Crit chance
Quiver = AS/Crit chance/dext
Weapon = DPS/Socket
Rings/Amulets = ???? Rings and amulet have every stat available but the prices are DAMN EXPENSIVE...fucking impossible to afford a "perfect ring/amulet", so what stats should i look for first?

ill try to take a look at my char but im probably at:

40k dps without SS (65k with it)
15-20k hp
a magic bow with 1100 dps
20% crit chance
120% crit damage
AS must be at 1,8
1700-1800 Dext

Was away for the weekend and didn't get to play D3 for four straight days. The sad part was that I did not miss playing for even a single moment, confirming my original thoughts that D3 is no way near as alluring as D2 was.

The thing is though, as this point, I'm not even sure what Blizzard can do to fix things to a point where I'll get really excited to play again...

I'm not so sure they even care. They sold a massive amount of copies of the game. They'll continue to sell copies as they keep dropping the price. They made who knows what from the fees on the RMAH. I'm quite sure to them, their game was a success. Does it really matter if a year down the road there are only a few thousand people playing it daily?

Someone had posted a graphic at some point; I believe they already made close to 750 million dollars on sales of D3, add in RMAH fees and you have a blockbuster success stories. The D3 money machine is going to influence other companies to do the same, and encourage Blizzard to continue the practices that they have started here. If they're making money then they're not going to stop following this formula; they made more money on this already than any game outside of WoW (and soon they'll have surpassed it) so the pattern will continue.

When you say "made close to 750 million" does that take into account all the money spent on developing Diablo III? The game has been in development for a rather long time, and people that work on games don't get paid paltry sums (not a ton, but usually a modest amount).
