That's a toss-up, run speed is helpful for avoiding or exiting fights and getting through the rift runs faster (especially if you follow half the rift map into a dead end and have to backtrack frequently). But DEX will boost your DPS directly and help you kill harder monsters faster. I personally am using all those point into DEX on my monk and INT on my WD.

I got my first legendary that I've actually seen people talk about wanting - the Unity ring, lol.

Should I be spending paragon points on run speed or should I be putting them into my classes primary stat instead? I've seen that run speed is really important, but more important than say Dex for a Monk?

I've been putting them in run speed for awhile now since my run speed wasn't very high with gear, but it seems like i should be putting them in Dex instead.

Generally, you should max out your run speed via Paragon points first. This allows you to re-roll your boots' movement speed to something else.

The max (without skills or passives) is 25%, so if you're not there, put points in move speed until you are. The extra DPS 50 points of dex will not make up for the extra move speed between packs in the long run, IMO.

When you guys are running rifts do you go for full clear or just run from elite pack to elite pack and once those are done, restart?

Because most of the pugs I have joined just run from pack to pack and then close the rift quickly once the boss goes down. Really annoying to me because I have found 2-3 legendaries from breaking pottery, etc.

it depends. maxing out points on run speed alows you to reroll movement speed on gear to something else, so you don't have to look for +movement on items any more and can auto re-roll that stat on anything you find with it. If you keep movement speed on your boots, for example, then you can max out your run speed by adding 25 points to movement in paragon stats. Movement it still important, but not required on gear anymore, that's all.

Something very dissapointing is I hear that they are putting the nerf bat on the furnace and monk ep.

Anyhow, I found a jawbreaker last night and decided to give dps monk another try. It's kinda cool being able to blaze around the map dishing a ton of damage, but so very sloppy. EP/Zdps still reigns supremem.

I usually do a full-ish clear. I'll cover the whole map if possible, but if, on one of the less well laid-out maps I get to the end and there's a spot I missed back at the beginning, I won't go back for it. Just keep killing until you run out of map in front of you basically.

That said, it's whoever opened the rift who gets to choose IMO. If I open it, I'll close it when I want. If someone else opens it, I'll only close if we have cleared everything, are all back in town, and I've done my salvaging/ID-ing and everyone is standing around for at least 10 seconds after that.

I close it pretty much immediately after the rift warden. The amount of loot you're going to get in the time spend clearing is likely going to be less than what you would get with more blood shards per hour.

Twitch? You'd make much more money on other streaming sites. >_>
You dirty little gremlin!!!~ D:
I'm not as active as I've wanted to be these days - never seem to find you on when I come online (late in Brussels timezone). I can do a T6 warden, slowly, but much faster if you're carrying with your geared WD

Are you going for the hellfire amulet?

I glimpsed a video the other day of a lightning dmg, int, crit chance, crit damage amulet but I've never seen it before.

P.S, I see wizards that are similarly geared to me yet somehow have about 5 million more toughness. I'm at around 230 paragon levels and have focused on +life and +armor now, not much + all resist as I'm an int class, so all resist is pretty high.

Had someone said that there is an excel sheet that will help you optimally distribute your paragon levels, based on your gear?
I'm on around 9PM-12 most of the time and yep I am going for the BiS Amulet, I think everyone is going for it too!

I mix between both strategies. I've found that on t4+ I get plenty of drops either way although closing immediately nets more blood shards.

When in a group, does everyone get their own loot or is it shared?
I thought I read you get your own but the one time I played with another person it looked like he picked up some of the loot I saw on the ground.

When it originally drops, it is only for you. However, if you pick it up and set it back down, it becomes "community loot" and everyone can pick it up (exception being items that are bound to your account), which they can see and not pick up. Legendaries that drop are only seen by you, but have a timer upon which they can be traded to anyone in the party before becoming account bound.

HC RiF is a terrifying/exhilarating experience. I took my T1 (and sometimes I feel like I should be back on expert or master) Crusader into a T3 rift with a party. Holy cow. Got a Darklight out of it, though. Still don't have a strong preference for one-handers, but I'll run with it for a bit.

It's going to take a while, but captain crimson plans finally dropped for me in HC. If I can get Aughild's to drop, my HC crusader will easily make it to T2 and maybe T3. Only 40 paragon, though. My HC blacksmith obviously isn't very stocked.

I recently got into the clan, but do you guys care if I randomly joined a game? My wiz is my best toon at the moment, but he's still only T1 (lots of legendaries, none considered BiS, no set pieces). Or do you prefer if I asked first? Main reason for asking is that I would be a carry for most of you guys. I have no problems opening rifts, but I only have ~100 tokens.

I don't mind at all if anyone from the clan joins.

Maxing out your item run speed should be your primary concern, for any character at any level prior to dumping more into DPS specs. Movement is crucial and once you have 25%, you'll feel like it's crawling at any slower.

I use the Warzechian bracers (speed burst after destroying objects) and run with Mantra of Conviction: Annihilation (30% speed bonus after killing monsters) when I'm solo. My philosophy is you have to be able to get to the next pack of monsters as fast as possible, otherwise you're wasting a lot of time doing nothing.

When I'm in a party, it's likely that others won't be using the bracers, so I swap to Strongarms for the bonus damage (which affects everyone).

I prefer full clears, usually, but it depends on the rift. I'm all about maximizing the time spent killing monsters for more legendary drops. It annoys me when in pugs people rush to the boss and then close the rift when it's a really dense rift. There's still a bonus to finding legendaries in rifts, so I break everything and kill almost every single monster (as long as it's not far out of my way). You're really just wasting keystones if you're not clearing as much as possible. Granted, there's plenty of rifts that are low density and don't have much to break. Those, I close as soon as I get the boss killed.

If I kept track of where I found my legendaries, a pretty large portion would be from pots, small chests, and those dead villagers that were amazing at venturing too far from the safety of their hometown.

Also, just tossing this out there in case there are those that don't know, but Rifts aren't that great for exp unless you have a pretty good group mowing through a higher Torment level. Running split bounties on a higher difficulty is far faster in exp.

Run Rifts for loot and bounties for exp.

I really don't mind anyone joining me, but I feel bad since I prefer to move fast and hit everything. I'm stocked well with materials right now, except for forgotten souls (can never have enough of those), so the only thing I loot when in a party is legendaries. I think most people aren't as OCD as I am, lol. I usually keep it easy and run T1-3 depending on which spec I'm playing around with.

The courtesy of a message is always welcomed, or a message in /clan. ^^

FYI: Instant join is bad, because of the unexpected moments that people (including random people that you just partied with in pugs) usually end up joining, lol.

I don't have quick join on, but if I am online player, feel free to request an invite. I generally do T3 on my WD (because it is just super fast and I can pretty much afk), but I'd have no problems doing T1 with you.

Got that completed jade set today Still need lots of practice with it but easily solod my first T6 rift with it. Not easy to play! I wanna level up a separate monk to put my pet gear on.

Also got that arcane vyr set going decent. Pandemonium and I absolutely ripped through T4. I'm having trouble picturing how I can higher though.

My Dh still needs a bombardier ruck sack as well as rrog and one more marauder to be t6 viable.

What are the WD's frog and spider attacks good for? They seem really weak compared to the blowgun darts, at least in the beginning (i'm only like 10 or 11 right now).

Where can I find information on different builds? Most of what I see out there is either badly outdated or doesn't include gear priorities and/or typical rotations, etc.

Well just got my 6th piece of Akkhan's. Now just need a new weapon and I can change it up a lot.

Denithor, I've been using the Crusader subreddit and it's been a great tool. Builds are all referenced in the side bar and the conversations are active and on-going.

B-net forums have typical builds and usually split up the builds based on T level. Toons on this game have very very simple rotations compared to others.

Played a while last night and got my (first ever) Shard of Hate. I was ecstatic when I saw the notification for the transmorg...until I looked at the stats.

It's around 1960dmg, 1000-1200 cold damage, int, vit, +dmg to elites.

I was terribly disappointed, linked it in General chat and saw that I had been crapped on by RNGesus. But then I received a few whispers saying to save it for 2.1 and to 'reroll damage' then. Anyone know what this refers to? Will we be able to reroll damage in 2.1? And even if that's the case, I'd need to reroll vit or something to a socket for +130% crit damage. So unless in 2.1 we can reroll damage in addition to one of the other stats on the weapon, looks like my Shard is garbage.

Any ideas?
