I have a solution to prevent this ridiculous drawn out ranting.
If anyone needs 4K over HDMI 2.0 and Fiji turns out to not have it, then please buy 980Ti or TitanX.
That way there will be more Fiji cards available for the rest of us that don't want to wait for restocking to obtain cards.

bitterly complaining don't look like they are going to buy a Fury X card anyway.
100% agreed. Plus the people bitterly complaining don't look like they are going to buy a Fury X card anyway.

1. 90-95% of current 4k televisions do not offer display ports. HDMI 2.0 only.
2. There are no "converters" available now, nor will they be in the future due to cost and lag.
It's insane, I never would have guessed this in a thousand years. I would have bet my house that no one could be foolish enough to just let Nvidia have this entire market segment.
I really hope they do find, and fire, the individuals responsible for this oversight.
Still a chance it does have HDMI 2.0, but that chance is getting slim...
Maximum Resolution: 4k @ 30 Hz (note: at time of writing no chipset supports 60Hz)
Don't say it, there's still hope heheh.
It says right on the product page:
Stay positive! The fact that AMDMatt (in my opinion) had OCUK delete the post (and any quoting it or talking about it) in a "cleaning", means he may have spoken before he knew the facts.
Yes, it does. That's an asterisk since none were available. It's spec 2.0, so it'll be able to do 60hz.

"Does the AMD Radeon R9 Fury X have HDMI 2.0 support? The rumors going around the internet are true and the Fiji GPU does not support HDMI 2.0 and it is running HDMI 1.4a. This is rather unfortunate as it is disappointing for us too as it limits 4K Ultra HD output to 30Hz. We expressed our concerns to AMD and thought that the AMD Radeon R9 Nano in particular would make a great living room gaming PC and having HDMI 2.0 would have been really nice for a 6-inch long card."
In addition, an AMD marketing rep confirmed on the OCUK forums that HDMI 2.0 is not supported. He later deleted all his posts, and the mods killed the thread, but it was there earlier this morning.
He wasn't aware there are functional adapters for the purpose of DP to HDMI 2.0 when posting that.

He knows there are adapters now but doesn't want to use one. Since he wants two AMD cards more than nvidia cards said he's going to wait to see if they support HDMI 2.0 for the people who want to use the card at 4K with an HDTV instead of 4K monitor.
So, I just did some more reading up on 4k with hdmi 2.0. Is it true that 17ms is the lowest input lag out there? That seems like it would just fine for the games I play, but any shooter would have to be incredibly annoying.
No one will tolerate the added lag, cost, and complexity, of any adapter when a native solution already is offered by the marketshare leading competitor.
For others, hey, knock yourselves out.
Thank God people are saying this. The card is labeled fury.... And that's what I feel for waiting for a company too incompetent to add such a feature. If the performance had been meh, I wouldn't have been mad. I would have bought a price competitive card.
But no where in my mind did I think they'd ignore hdmi 2.0. Wasn't on my radar I didn't think anyone could be that stupid.
I'm just dumbstruck I really don't know what to do. Right now I went from 650-1300 of amd to like 330 gtx 970 nvidia? Maybe I'll get the g1 since I've recommended it to anyone hard set on nvidia.
Model or your TV if you don't mind, I'm looking into 4K 60hz+ televisions myself have no clue what to buy.
AMD marketing might have just been surpassed by AMD engineering...though this could just be a function of not having enough staff. There was nobody to say "Man, I sure would like to use a new fury on my 4k tv after it launches".
Well you mentioned the lag before, but right now you haven't shown there is any lag. Then again though, first you said there weren't even any adapters, but a few posts later you now realize there are adapters but have already somehow figured out they cause lag
Accell (6/5/15) said:We currently do not offer such an adapter. It is currently in the development pipeline and may become available by the end of the year. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Plugable Technologies (5/2/15) said:We don't have firm timelines on the the release of DP to HDMI 2.0 adapters at this point. I expect they'll hit the market before the year is out, but again, tough to say regarding specifics.
Thanks for the info. I wish TV makers would just use display port it is simply better, the latest revision has higher bandwidth versus HDMI for example. But that doesn't excuse AMD leaving out an HDMI 2.0 port.Samsung 48JU7500
It's not, read the thread. We have electrical engineers who have chimed in and explained that any "converter" will introduce additional lag and cost $100+ to achieve. So essentially that's a no go, permanently, especially if a competitor already has a product that fills the need. And it's months away, and it may not work properly with the extremely bandwidth intensive 4:4:4 @ 60H, and and and and. Many reasons.
90% of 4k televisions currently on the market do not offer DP, and that number is rising year over year. I'm not sure why, though it likely has to do with cost. The TV mfgs try to cut costs everywhere, the margin is so thin that they have to choose the most common connection usually. And none of the 4k televisions that DO offer a display port right now can do true 4:4:4 @ 60Hz @ 4k as the brand new 2015 Samsung 4k line can...and that's the point.
Hold on a second here. You just said a few posts ago :
You were shown that you were wrong and there are adapters now and more coming, so now it actually does work and you've just changed your mind - but - it introduces 'lag' ? And an electrical engineer posted here and showed how it produces lag ? I missed that post, where is the post explaining how and why it will produce lag ? Now that we've moved past 'There is no fix for this.'
Any source for this ? Or did this claim originate from wherever 'There is no fix for this.' did ?
Well I agree with some of that. For myself if Fury X is a faster card than the 980ti with overclocking then it is clearly the superior card for my uses. I water cool everything myself so I'd just be ripping the coolers off anyways.
Still why be so angry and continue to post that you're upset about HDMI 2.0 again and again ? Yes you'll lose out on having a Fury and yes the EVGA hybrid cooler will not be all that quiet because it still has a blower fan on the card, but - you can get something now. If you wait until next week and find out it doesn't have HDMI 2.0 you'll be in the same boat you are now but still waiting and probably having missed out on that card you are considering being in stock.
Seems like you are just wasting a lot of energy on this. Fury X, if faster, won't be that much faster and the real loss you'll get from not getting one would be noise from using a hybrid that still has a blower on the card. Not -that- big a deal.
100% agreed. Plus the people bitterly complaining don't look like they are going to buy a Fury X card anyway.
